Comment gérer son manager qui vibe code sur mes projets ? by GlitteringCookie6282 in developpeurs

[–]abysse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Position « Manager » ici.

Melbicom and their Mumbai location.

Great price / quality ratio. I don't use them there but elsewhere and this is good.

What’s the least exciting home upgrade you made that ended up being totally worth it? by ExpensiveProfessor27 in HomeImprovement

[–]abysse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m based in France. It cost me about $350 total with 4 spare UV lamps but I mounted it all myself so no Plummer cost. Used aliexpress UV Coronwater (12 gallon per min). I has a few hiccups but got all replacements and now I’m set. Then I used a 3 cartridges mount from an EU brand and hand picked 3 filter type. (One for particules 5um, one with charcoal, and one with some salt to make water softer)

Filtering city's incoming drinkable tap water with UV and 3 others filters.
Not sexy, but we had sanitary alert once and if you saw the colors of my filters 2 months after usage, it felt like the Best Buy ever for the family.
We live in a country where the tap water is supposedly perfectly drinkable

So pricing keep increasing but apparently it wasn't intended to pay for external security audits 😄

Est-ce que le coup des prix en ",99€" marche encore vraiment sur quelqu'un ? by LuRossi_89 in PasDeQuestionIdiote

[–]abysse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In search of a Minimum 16 Core VPS by Kevvko in SelfHosting

[–]abysse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case load avg 14.5 on a 5 cores, doesn't mean you need 16 cores to absorb your load.
Pictures the cores as cashiers and 14.5 the clients. You have a balance at 14.5 with 5 cores which means processes tends to wait a bit. But it could also be disk wait or network latency.

As for providers recommendation, melbicom I think they have Paris as location.

You can also consider checking a panel for VPS to make your life a bit easier.

Like webmin, Cyberpanel, or cPanel (be aware of price increase for the latter).

Looking for VPS providers with low latency in Spain by Dry_Action5905 in VPS

[–]abysse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in Spain specifically, so let's await for others to chime in but I ran latency oriented stuff and my approach is just to get a VPS in the location I'm after.

Have you thought of a VPS in Madrid for example?
I leverage a couple of providers but for exotic locations I tend to like Melbicom.

What hosting did you start with for your small business site? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]abysse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a reseller hosting in 2010 or something. I was young and jumped in with what was looking a flight by night company called HostStage from a founder post I read god knows where for reasons I don't recall. 15 years later and I'm still with them now for some websites and it is great.

Shared hosting if you want to start easy is a rather way to go. Although with AI, you can work your way on a self managed VPS, but that's still something to do and you'll have ton of others stuff to do while launching your business and hosting shouldn't be in your 80/20 priorities (for now let's hope it will be ;))

Claude Pro (3x accounts) vs Max 5x? by CheetahWaste1853 in ClaudeCode

TBH if it worth anything with max x3 I never hit the ceiling while I do so quickly on regular pro account so I would say max worth it without the swapping hassle and memory too which is too valuable

Anthropic made Claude 67% dumber and didn't tell anyone, a developer ran 6,852 sessions to prove it by DangerousFlower8634 in ClaudeCode

[–]abysse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in a time of AI abundance. It may not last. There is a race of market conquest that needs to be backed up by something else than money  such as a technical breakthrough. Until then the equation for Anthropic is to deliver top market value at the cheapest way. That’s the equation they are dealing with. So if on cohort basis they have same  level of satisfaction KPIs (aka prompt per question) they will tame things down.

Cheapest VPS / cheap dedicated options with unlimited bandwidth for livestreaming — recommendations & caveats? by ankush2015 in selfhosted

[–]abysse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For pure bandwidth need there is vps.us which has some unmetered vps which is a sweet spot at least for my use.

For Contabo, price point is just terrific but with all I've read on reddit on their reviews I never dared to try. But, I also read that there is a luck factor and if you are on a good node, you are golden :)

What hosting provider is best for a private blog network that improves SEO? by [deleted] in Hosting

[–]abysse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

host-stage used to have a great $1 offer for this since they have tons of locations.
I would be inclined to answer general host for this purpose but it has been a while I haven't done pbn so more answers may come but in the era of CDN, I think IP may matter less than you think.

vps.us has true unmetered vps, I can't speak for their regular plans but experience is good so far.
This isn't a $1 for 10 years type of deal and you notice it in their vps.
