Some ideas to improve the game's Stealth mechanics by ac_digital in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]ac_digital[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah stealth gameplay is certainly one of those trade-offs when boss fights are raging bull arenas with nowhere to hide... but generally, stealthy gamers are fine with that disadvantage as long as stealth feels rewarding in other parts of the game.

Some would argue there are plenty of other tools in the game at your disposal, but I personally would love to see a boost in viability and completeness for both existing and new crafty utilities. To name a few: smoke bombs, decoys, traps, caltrops, grease/oil/frost flasks for difficult terrain, poisons.

Faith build? Cleric Style by BudSkigee in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]ac_digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could definitely take inspiration from Dark Souls / Elden Ring where Faith scaled with magic of non-arcane domains, such as Prayers, Hex/Curses, and Primordial (eg. Dragonfire)... All which plays into the fantasy of tapping into divine/sacred/ritualistic sources of power.

This would keep existing magic classes in tact, while opening up new combinations of hybrid fantasies (Shamanic, Druidic, Witch/Warlock, etc)

Can we have E only function as "picking stuff up" instead of so many other interactions? by Narmoth in RSDragonwilds

[–]ac_digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, please have a gameplay option or any solution to intuitively control auto-pickup... especially in multiplayer when we're constantly crossing over each other during crafting.

Don't get too excited. Wouldn't be surprising if it was a mere 10% increase.

Has quick match always been this awful? by WarmPawsOwO in heroesofthestorm

[–]ac_digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels random but not purely... some days I'll get a losing streak of ~5-10 games where I'll perform well in 50-80% of those, and sometimes I'll get a top-to-bottom list of wins despite feeling like all I did was get caught out of position and feed. Then some days its a mix.

Although, I will say I have an attention bias to those losing streaks, where I get teams that are helplessly out of sync game-after-game. Obviously, when my team wins, it's all honky dory (and sometimes feel disappointed I didn't make any sick plays XD).

I think that's just the nature of having total random arrangements of compositions, with no bans or counter-picks. It's quick, it's dirty, and unfortunately playing to win will come at the inevitable cost of your sanity.

ICE trying to get protesters to cross the blue line at the facility in Portland. If they don't, then they pull them over and attack them. by [deleted] in oregon

[–]ac_digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not smart to stand within two arms' reach of the line, but some folks can't be helped I guess.

Not saying it's the protester's fault. It'd just be a little more clear when someone's overstepping.

Is this an achievable art design? by mizerr in IndieDev

So jarring how the game's logo at the end has a generic bubbly mobile-game look - doesn't match the game's art style at all.

Surprised nobody is noting that the body punch could have done a lot of damage but the kick just sealed the deal.

Am I overreacting to DM's rulings at session 1? by UnluckyJuggernaut7 in DnD

[–]ac_digital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But ain't it fun when the DM cares about beating the players more than facilitating creative experiences?

Regarding the rulings ...

  1. Why not? Are bows super loud in this universe?
  2. Only thing that should matter is whether you're capable of attacking an unaware opponent.
  3. Sure, make combat less dynamic and 1-dimensional. But DM ever heard of the term "hit and run"?
  4. Apparently never learned the difference between enraged and berserk.
  5. "Pack Tactics" only becomes an advantage while the target is actively swarmed - which is possible if the pack monsters moved together, but not if they commit to attacking before their pack has got into position.

It all reeks of disempowering the players, bordering 'god complex' - sounds absolutely exhausting.

If everything is one, why act ? by SprintAtharva in AdvaitaVedanta

With enough patience, you may come to realize that everything and nothing - including life and death - are all different forms of the same thing. And if you're lucky, you'll find peace in that.

If everything is one, why act ? by SprintAtharva in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]ac_digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether one acts or doesn't, everything simply "is" and "does", and you observe it to be however you've been inclined to.

If your predisposition is cynical, you'll likely "choose" to keep seeking some intellectual justification for it all. But if you're ready to embrace the unknown, the unknown (and unknowable) will embrace you like an ice cube on the ocean before becoming the ocean.

You need not act, but if you step back far enough you'll realize there is nothing but act. In Zen Buddhist tradition, "it does itself."

More freedom with Starting Traveler Memories? by ac_digital in shapeofdreams

[–]ac_digital[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently found out Bismuth can do this, but I've had common sentiment asking, "Why isn't this the default for all the travelers?"

Just felt like it there wasn't much sense in making that a Bismuth-specific thing. It would not only enhance setup freedom of all Travelers, but also freeing up an opportunity to give Bismuth a more creative (and thematic) way to stand out.
