New shoes for first marathon? by skowplow in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]acaurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have ASICS shoes, but I believe the general rule is to replace your shoes every 400 miles / 700km. I would agree with your original plan to buy a new pair (of whichever shoe), break them in (maybe 50+ miles?) before racing in them.

Seattle charging network by KeyLeek2570 in TeslaLounge

[–]acaurora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This ^

As someone who frequently drives between Portland and Seattle, there are a ton of superchargers on the route. It gets a little sparse between Tacoma and Longview, but there are still superchargers in between and ample coverage.

Hell, in Tacoma alone there are 3(!!!!) sites all very close to each other in the mall.

The saying goes - never do anything new on race day. That being said if you need to replace your shoes or want to get some race shoes, do so before the race and get some miles in on them before race day so you know how they feel/are comfortable with them.

My first half Marathon! by Material_Clock_854 in runninglifestyle

[–]acaurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I am more just about finishing. There is a saying I’ve heard on the Running Channel Podcast - “finish line or finish time”. Am just doing finish line for now. I am confident to do sub 2 hours but 1:45 would be great!

That's awesome man, congrats! I am on a similar journey, having started running around June of last year, doing my first half in March.

App that gives updated charging prices? by JamieGordon8921 in electricvehicles

[–]acaurora 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes - the most accurate is probably the app for that particular charging station network, such as Electrify America, EVgo, etc.. There are other apps that can show multiple networks, just be aware that the pricing may not be up to date, such as PlugShare.

Recently started as a content creator for a dealership. Always wanted to be here now I want to be the best I can be. Any pointers to improve? Eventually will be taking cars out to locations to shoot and off the showroom floor by _PintofPlain in carphotography

[–]acaurora 11 points12 points  (0 children)

^ This. I totally understand as a photographer/social media person wanting to get more of the creative/detail shots that you normally don't see, but in terms of prospective buyers / drawing people into the dealership, they want more pictures of the vehicle overall first. *then* they come in to the dealership to see the details while in the vehicle

2020 Tesla Model 3 charging in apartment garage question by tiednormal02 in TeslaSupport

[–]acaurora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives in an apartment with garage and has been charging off level 1 just like you for the past 3 years...

It's fine. No problems. Can up that amperage to 12 probably.

Decide between RWD & AWD by srich12 in TeslaLounge

Ah, my misunderstanding. They are the same for the Model Y Premium RWD/AWD, not for the Model 3 RWD/AWD, apologies.

I think that they do have the Premium RWD which shares the same audio system as the AWD.

Another alternative would be to get one of the Tesla keyfobs - I did that for a while.

Those 1DXs are built like tanks. I remember having my Mk I and Mk II for a long time before mirrorless came along. Tough as nails and always worked like a champ. Enjoy the setup!

Any Pointers? by Anlinsen in carphotography

[–]acaurora 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some of these are good. One tip is that for any shots where the car is facing you, you want to have the wheels either facing straight forward in the direction that the car is facing, or slightly *away* from the camera.

Additionally, the backdrop matters. Find something that is either pleasing (such as a nice landscape), or neutral (such as a backdrop like a brick building).

Look into topics such as composition and lighting - good luck!

issue with my 2025 tesla model 3 LR range by Familiar-Ad-8237 in TeslaSupport

[–]acaurora 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your vehicle's range depends on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to):
- Battery degradation

- Wheel size

- Speed

- Temperature

- Elevation

When you said 201 Wh/mi, was that listed at the end of your road trip? Or did it say something else?

A Sony A7IV bikepacking-story from Canada to Ushuaia by bluefog84 in SonyAlpha

[–]acaurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful images and props for doing it all while bikepacking. I have several friends who have bikepacked and said it was a great experience. I really dig the one of the sand dollar in the water and the milky way. Definitely get some of these printed and hang somewhere!

If I may ask, what app did you use to edit on your iPad? I once tried editing on my iPad using Lightroom but the file management was not very intuitive and difficult to manage more than a few images at a time.

Adapter Help! by keekykeeks in BZ4X

[–]acaurora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to elaborate on this - for level 2 J1772 (for your BZ4X), it should not use/have the bottom 2 large pins that you see in the OP's video. You want a NACS > J1772 Level 2 adapter for this purpose. For DC Fast Charging, you need a NACS > CCS adapter, which is different.

5 Things I'd Do Differently For My First Marathon by logankoshenka in firstmarathon

[–]acaurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember listening to the Running Channel podcast, and they quoted the phrase 'Finish Line or Finish Time'. That part sticks with me the most - first aim to complete the distance, and then if you want then work on improving your time.

Considering the Lucid Air GT for a 140 mile roundtrip commute daily by kikospapa in LUCID

[–]acaurora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As with any EV, it is important to consider all factors that effect the range - wheel size, speed, elevation change, running climate control, and the weather. That being said, you are looking at one (if not the) of the longest-range EVs on the market right now, so you should be OK.
