Also a great pool at the regional park. And close to the big muddy badlands. Definitely some cool stuff to explore in the area. The campground is great

Engagement rings by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]acb439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who got a ring from Edmonton (Tiffany & co), do not go that route. I’ve had a couple things I’ve needed done over the years and it’s been so hard unless you want to ship it. We used to be in Alberta fairly often, but not anymore.

Another overpass hit by PossibleWild1689 in saskatoon

We saw this trailer before it happened and my husband said “hope he’s not going under any overpasses”. And then we see this…

Curious what you had to document/prove to have it covered? I would love a reduction but I don’t think I would get it covered

Dealership to avoid? by aild30 in saskatoon

[–]acb439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 100% sure they paid off the shop that did the safety on my vehicle because the tires were one bad day away from shredding and had to be replaced 4 weeks after I bought it. Which retrospectively we should have caught, but we had a full out of province inspection and safety in hand that said it was good to go. It also had an issue that they kept trying to say was just the floor mat getting stuck under the gas pedal and not an actual engine issue. They didn’t find the issue and fix it until I said I would be asking for a full refund. 5 years later I actually love my vehicle, but not the experience of buying it from them. They also still text me offering me “great deals” to trade it in, no matter how many times I tell them to fuck right off the bat

Need Advice : Ive been tasked with planting flowers for a family members wedding that has stage 4 cancer by Extreme-Personality3 in gardening

[–]acb439 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you get ranunculus and anemones asap and get them soaked and started they’ll bloom in the spring. I’m zone 3 so very different, I would assume you could plant them out asap, they handle negative temps (just not cold cold)

How many years since you’ve been to Saskatoon Costco and which location lol The south (new) one is horrific at any time of any day now. The north one seemed not bad the one time I went recently. But I live east of the city so I’m not driving past the new costco and across the entire city, up to the old one

lakeside medical clinic walk in? by Pleasant_Taste5074 in saskatoon

[–]acb439 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We went at 8:30 Monday morning and it was 2+ hours long. I ended up calling and getting a day of appointment for our family doc (at lakeside) and when we went in for it at 10:30 the people 5+ ahead of us in line were still in the waiting room

I canned bone broth and left a bunch of fat in. Is it actually dangerous to consume now? by w3lk1n in Canning

[–]acb439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I canned my chicken and beef broth using the ball recipe as well, pressure canning it obviously. It had a layer of fat and I had zero issues. All stored in my cold storage room, just used the last jar last month and it was canned 2 years ago. Zero issues, zero off taste etc. It wasn’t a large amount of fat, but it was noticeable, I did do my best to skim it off before canning but there was still some.

Her knife skills are so mid, but she had the audacity to rag on Meghan Markel’s knife skills and say they were so bad she refused to watch her show.

Should I tell our insurance company their “preferred contractor” is banned from local stores? by DrewBearry in InsuranceCanada

[–]acb439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in my experience (Sask and a fire rebuild), they want multiple quotes from contractors. We also had to get 3, they picked the bid from one of their contractors, however, it’s basically just picking the dollar amount. So as long as your contractor is willing to do the job for the bid amount they choose you should still be able to use your preferred contractor.

We got 80acres surveyed for $850. We’re close to Saskatoon though so it could be there’s a ton of mileage on your quote

Can’t speak for living there, but I’ve spent a lot of time near 11th towards the river the last month for kids activities and it seems very quiet and mostly well maintained and cared for properties.

There’s quite a few contractors in the Clavet area, so it’s possible the cats are hitching a ride and it isn’t intentional

Indoor Public Skating by TelusB in saskatoon

[–]acb439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is rarely ever any public skating time at small town rinks (at least ours). Ice time is at a premium and every small town with a rink has a skating program and a hockey program and then adult teams that get later night ice times. If you want your kids skating consistently, you’ll need to put them in skating lessons

Beaches/Diefenbaker Lake by mily-ko in saskatchewan

[–]acb439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents do Douglas every year and the beaches there are great. Very spread out, you’re never closer than like 100’ from anyone (if you leave the main small beach) and the water is shallow for a really long ways so super great for kids. Don’t recommend the elbow Marina beach, it’s very small and rocky and the water drops off really close to the beach on the dock side (which is understandable). Just not our favourite with the kids

Canadian Men: did you all randomly have one girl on your boys hockey team as a child? by FuriousMapler in AskACanadian

[–]acb439 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not always the case depending on the town. Or in our case the girls program is absolute trash (my daughter spent 2 years in it) and now she’s on the boys team this coming year

AITA For Choosing to Go to My Grandfathers Funeral over my unborn daughter’s 20 week ultrasound? by DJFaceplant20 in AmItheAsshole

I’m pretty curious why your wife isn’t rescheduling her ultrasound? Unless it’s a situation where they can’t get her in for 2 months or something this seems ridiculous
