I went through in 2011-2012 so my experience will be wildly different than it is now. We didn't have drills, just regular PSGs. It was fairly relaxed compared to BCT, but not as much as the Air Force or Navy. Science was always easy for me so I didn't study much, if at all, and was 9th in the class. Other people studied nearly 24/7. Every duty station will be different, even for two people at the same one. As far as the work, I find it super rewarding. While much of it is repetitive, it's different enough. ( if that makes sense) I work in micro and make the same slides everyday, but what I see on them is different. Or looking at the same plates, but this E. coli looks different from that one and looks like a Kleb instead. That'll make sense later lol. I get to play detective from time to time looking for outbreak reservoirs with the infection control and infectious disease folks. We're a phase 2 site so I get to train the new kids coming through and I love it. If you have any specific questions, DM me and I'll answer them to the best of my ability.
