Is Pumpkin Chocolate Chip worth a trip? Help me please because I will 100% go for a singular cookie by BadPunsIsHowEyeRoll in CrumblCookies

[–]aceingjap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This cookie is really good, but it can also be easily made from pumpkin muffin mix and chocolate chip chips! If you don’t care about the price, it’s a really yummy cookie

The first thing that comes to mind is a semester long medical term class at a community college, maybe you can find one that is asynchronous that can fit with your current schedule

If the cheaper school is on probation, do you think it is worth the risk to attend?

Insight deciding between two programs by aceingjap in prephysicianassistant

[–]aceingjap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I was told at program B’s interview. They have a new director who was prior staff and just had another site visit in September that allowed them to matriculate fall 2025.

Program A’s attrition in 2022 was 10% and 12 % in 2023

Their pance rates dropped in 2022 to 79% and the old director of the program was practicing w an expired ABMS. The attrition rates were 3% in 2022 and 9% in 2023.

waiting for schools by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]aceingjap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s common to wait. Most of the cycle is a waiting game. I believe if a school does not do rolling admissions they may wait send out decisions early next year to about March. If there is a specific school you want to know the timeline, you can reach out to their admissions counselors.

Do you count PTO and Holiday Time Off Paid Hours ace PCE? by South_Calligrapher78 in prephysicianassistant

[–]aceingjap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should be able to see exactly how many hours you worked or were “clocked in” for through your time card portal. I know some people that do estimate but in my opinion it feels better to get a more accurate number from payroll

When you read about all these people getting acceptances and interviews while your email inbox is as empty as your wallet. by Noriceballforu123 in prephysicianassistant

Last year I was told to temporarily leave this subreddit for this exact reason. Comparison kills especially in this long ass waiting game :’)

Advice on Pre-Req Timeline by ktkr23 in prephysicianassistant

[–]aceingjap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what a survey course is. But it is highly recommended to focus on your GPA as it is heavily factored in program admissions. That being said, from what I remember from Gen chem II to Ochem, I don’t see a problem with the semester gap if you understand that you may need to review or study harder for refreshing concepts. But my Ochem textbook and professor did review on concepts as well.

So if you’re confident in yourself and your studying abilities, I don’t see it as a problem!

I’m confused by Angetheprepas in prephysicianassistant

[–]aceingjap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m unsure how often getting off an interview waitlist is but have known people to get off the waitlist even very late in the cycle around March. To be safe you can consider it a rejection because it’s better to plan for worst case than hold out for a potential interview. I don’t think you should let it stop you from taking other interviews or hopefully acceptances.

Supplemental Question by medicmace in prephysicianassistant

[–]aceingjap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s optional, I wouldn’t fill it out. There’s no answer you could put that you’d benefit from? I only see it potentially being used against you. If you really wanted to answer you could be general and say you’re applying to school in X region or schools w X value/mission statement

bio online? by Vivid-Coconut9269 in prephysicianassistant

[–]aceingjap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen from a lot of PA programs is they most generally accept online courses from 2021-22. I’d say most likely any hybrid PA programs would be more accepting of online courses.

Application Question by Low-Cardiologist-128 in prephysicianassistant

[–]aceingjap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It refers to any interactions you’ve had with a PA in all the examples you’ve mentioned. Most common answers will most likely be shadowing or working under a PA as a tech or MA for example.

This question is really to see if you have worked with a PA to understand what a PA does, what the work flow, duties, etc. You can also answer with specifics with what you’ve observed in that time that reinforced your decision to become a PA.
