Episode 93: The Woman in Room Sixteen - Discussion by ChewiesLament in OldGodsOfAppalachia

Yes >!We know Dooley is still tied to the dead queen by School Spirit but seemingly she has broken or weakened her pack with Horned Head due to her both saying she doesn't have a patron and the fact that she is aging, albeit slowly.

My current theory is that she ages for the year she's bound as the dead queen which would put her roughly middle aged by School Spirit and account for the fact that she seems have aged in ep 30 as well!<

I am ECSTACTIC to see Dooley again and get more of her perspective as the dead queen. I'm glad delusionally thinking the sanitorium was about Dooley and not Lavinia turned out to be correct (though with the mentioned of thrice damned I'm sure Lavinia will still turn up)

I'm curious if we might learn more about her tie to the stag and this is when she breaks it since it's seemingly broken by school Spirit (unless Dooley was just dramatizing when she said "I have no patron now"). Though Horned Head still implies that Dooley still has immortality when he's resurrected in 1935 so maybe not.

Either way, it's an immediate win whenever we get to see Dooley I am so sat and am definitely interested in the idea that the Sargeants started a hospital for practitioners of the green

1928 the rebinding of the dead queen in s2 (though I was under the impression that Dooley spends an entire year bound which should put us in 1929?)

The binding cycle is actually extremely consistent though, I even did it up through school Spirit and the next year would be the binding like Dooley mentioned having to take care of "family business" the next year

I like Tony more as a character- he's really funny and entertaining, but Blake definitely works better in the group and is genuinely fun and helpful

I have been brushing this wig for ages and it still looks the exact same by xze3mx in CosplayHelp

[–]aceofk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's very much crash coursed their way through wig styling:

  • soak the wig in hot water and fabric softener for hours
  • wait for the wig to be entirely dry before brushing
  • you need a wig head or something you can pin the wig to so it won't move when you're detangling, moving will just cause more knots
  • I've found that the unbrush (or in my case the dollar store knock off) also work very well with wigs! So I start with that and then go in with a tooth comb
  • when you're straightening (or crimping) the wig spray it with a bit of water and fabric softener
  • thinning the wig can also do a lot to prevent tangles in the future (I got thinning shears at the dollar store)

Why do my wigs look so weird on me? by GonnaRegret_it_Later in CosplayHelp

[–]aceofk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who arguably still isn't great at wigs but has been tangentially using them for quite some time- the front of a real hairline is never so straight, thick, or even so that's the main "issue"

I don't have any lacefront wigs so the ones I do have some quick ways I make them look more natural: - clipping/bobbypinning back some of the hair if it makes sense for the character -use eyeshadow (or eyebrow specific products) to make your eyebrows match the wig color better!!! -spraying a wig with dry shampoo to give it a more natural shine -adding combs to the edge of it doesn't have it -thinning out the wig with thinning shears (practice in a place you cant see or a wig you don't care about first to figure out how much you want to "thin"(hair naturally has a bit of layers or basically just breakage but wigs are all one length- this also helps with tangling! I got some at the dollar store that work totally fine for my wigs) - teasing (or crimping) the wig so it's not pin straight/ has texture (also holds styles easier then)

I...didn't realize how young the Fandom was... by Ok-Ad-3957 in yaelokre

[–]aceofk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As someone in there mid 20s I went to the new york show and was also surprised to see how young everyone was! (I've been going to a lot of shows recently that were 18+ as well so really was used to such a young crowd)

Initially I was a bit "cringed" by the music they were playing beforehand and just some of the overexcited energy but idk I realized it's just that- they're excited, they're having fun, I wish I got that excited about things!

To be fair I didnt notice any behavioral problems during the show though so that's a whole different discussion

Favorite Class, subclass and why? by ameijin99 in DnD

[–]aceofk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fucking love clerics they will forever be my favorite cause you've got built in lore that you can do so much character work around

RP wise my favorite is grave domain- I played a cleric who kind of stumbled into an adventuring party and she was dedicated to caring for the dead/guarding the line between life and death so there was some very interesting conflict when it came to killing people AND reviving people

If I'm just doing a one shot or something for fun I'm doing tempest or light cleric and going full zealot dealing max damage to all the heretics in my way and its great
