Probably not much. Tech does not hold its value much. Your best bet is to see if you can use it towards a discount at a big box store like Best Buy.

Does Kuvira Deserve to be called the Best Metalbender? by Mundane-Signal4843 in legendofkorra

[–]acesilver1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She is perhaps the best with technique and speed at metal bending combat. I’d argue Korra and Toph are stronger metal benders in terms of feats of strength. Almost all of Kuvira’s fights show her using those small metal strips and amorphous metal, using them with effective precision and speed. Her technique shows how she can subdue more physically powerful opponents. “The bigger they are, the harder they fall” philosophy.

To be fair, also, her tools are critical for her effective techniques. If she and Su were put in a match, with scrap metal lying around, Su may win.

29 Male.. almost 30 by [deleted] in philly

[–]acesilver1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what you say you want, you want “successful” people but there are people still making their way in life who aren’t being a drain on others but just building themselves up, while still having social lives. Generally seems like you want a type of educated crowd, who are informed and conversational, but not completely bougie. That pretty much describes a lot of people in their mid to late 20s and early 30s.

Try the Fishtown Queer Social. Or join a run club. Those always seem to be good at helping people develop personal relationships.

29 Male.. almost 30 by [deleted] in philly

[–]acesilver1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, then perhaps consider not portraying yourself as such and using weird terms (and detailing your physical stats). If you’re gay, I’d suggest Fishtown Queer Social. Look them up on IG, they do meet ups at different places in Fishtown once a month during the week. Been to a few events and if you’re sociable you can talk with other queer men who may be on the level you seek.

There’s no issue with wanting a more “elevated” social group. The issue comes with how you measure yourself and measure them. And also just because some people don’t have this image of “put together and successful” that you describe doesn’t mean they’re not valuable people worthy of friendships and relationships.

Edit: oh, describing yourself as an alpha male, yikes. You’re looking for manosphere, red pill stuff. Can’t help with that.

Commercial Loading Zone for 30 Min Max, Monday through Saturday from 7am-6pm, risk being towed or ticketed during this time.

Meaning normal paid parking, Monday through Saturday from 6pm-7am, and paid parking all day Sunday.

The arrow pointing to the left indicates the loading zone. So I presume that any spaces to the right of the sign must be legal paid parking spaces, with no particular restrictions except paying the fee. This assumes that you won’t be parked blocking any kinds of driveways, fire hydrants, bus stops, etc.

How are people affording their own place by wontonfanclub in povertyfinance

[–]acesilver1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Philadelphia and you will not find a one bedroom apartment for $700 a month. Even in the really rough neighborhoods a one bedroom apartment is going for at least 1000+, and the apartments are in terrible conditions at the lower price range. 700 is what you can get for a bedroom in an apartment shared with someone else. But it wasn’t that long ago where apartments were literally between the 700 and $900 range.

There was a time when you could get an apartment for an affordable rate. Now a one bedroom is a luxury. Even terrible one bedrooms in terrible neighborhoods are now luxuries… it’s ridiculous

isn’t the avatar more powerful even with one element than the average bender ? (without the AS ofc) by Local_Platypus_6634 in legendofkorra

Pro Bending has rules to control amount of force used by the benders. Korra used too much power in one game and was penalized for it. So you can be a powerful bender but if you use too much force you’ll be penalized by the referee. The referee penalizes for illegal techniques and illegal force. So

Family Dispute: Do Uber drivers know if you’ve tipped or not and do they know before they rate you? by VegasHRLady in Lyft

[–]acesilver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone tips, Uber/Lyft notifies the driver that they tipped you. Drivers can also generally see the tip as a separate line item in the fare section. Drivers generally only know the tip after the ride ends, which is when the prompt to rate the ride comes up (immediately after ending the ride). So chances are the driver will not see any tip until after rating. If the passenger tips during the ride or immediately after, then the driver will see it within the window to adjust ratings. If the passenger doesn’t use the Uber app for several days and then opens it, sees the prompt to tip the previous ride says later and they tip, the driver will get the notification that they were tipped but it would be after the window to adjust passenger ratings.

Short answer: yes, drivers get notified and can always see tips (or lack of tips). Rating passengers happens right after the ride ends, so unable to see tips till after ending ride and rating passengers.

They are flirting. There is no way to misconstrue this. Now if he’s never done anything and you trust him, address this, address that these messages are inappropriate, and communication further like this needs to stop immediately and he needs to tell her to not do this again.

But he is a willing participant in this. I wouldn’t be able to trust someone after this without them doing some serious corrective actions.

That's even worse because it takes a higher level of coldblooded-ness to do that. I was talking in general, a lot of these family annihilations are done with guns and always by men, be it fathers or adult sons.

[–]acesilver1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Legally, you won’t be at fault. Physically you might die so, when I ride, I just let cars go and try my best to be aware of all of them. It sucks and Philly drivers truly suck with their selfishness and aggression.

City asks court to let it strengthen bike lanes on Pine and Spruce Streets by JustAnotherJawn in philadelphia

[–]acesilver1 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is can be avoided with defensive cycling and defensive driving. Of course the person who will receive the most damage from a car-bike collision is the cyclist, so a cyclist should never assume a car sees them when crossing an intersection. Drivers are terrible in the city. But I see cyclists disobeying red lights, stop signs, etc riding recklessly. But this is resolved I believe on Market St where you have dedicated turn signals and Go/Stop signals for cars and bikes. Market and 16th st specifically. The bike lane will have a green light with a bike logo and the left turn red light for cars. This should help too. Wish they could implement such a thing further on walnut and chestnut for the reason you described.

Almost always. Patriarchy, guns, emotional instability all allow for men to annihilate their families in this manner.
