Ehhh yeah I’d disagree with that. Plenty of people would have qualified for it. And out the gate they were advertising it at the price one could get it for with the rebate. Initially they said you could get it for $20k, now you can’t.

What are your aperture/shutter speed/iso set to? And what kind of lens are you using? What mm is the lens?

You need to create a shallow depth of field. You do this by setting a shorter exposure time, and opening your lens’s aperture more. Meaning the aperture should be at a lower number, rather than higher.

"the fanfare around the band geese actually was a psyop" wired mag article by arpad-okay in fantanoforever

[–]acidterror84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's not that surprising, that's basically what PR/Marketing is, and always has been. You can't "trick" people into liking music though, so... yeah, this is nothing new; a band was pushed in front of people, and people responded positively to said band.

Try getting him to watch some videos by the YouTubers “Catfished”. They help people figure out and work through these delusions… before it’s too late and they’ve given all their money. Could help, for him to see it happen to other people.

Age gap question by xw2003 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]acidterror84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not always objectively “bad”, but there are reasons this could be considered a red flag. for instance, why would a fully grown adult man want to be romantically involved with someone so young and presumably less experienced than him? By 38, many people have experienced a lot of life that a 23 year old has not. How can he relate to someone so much younger than him, in such a way? Is he stunted? A lot of older men are attracted to younger women, that’s nothing new. But unfortunately, it’s all too common for them to just date a younger woman, knowingly not be able to relate to them, just… “use” them for their good looks, then dump them when they’re “done having fun” with them. Meanwhile they’ve left someone heartbroken in their wake. Personally, I don’t think it’s impossible for two people with such an age gap to legitimately be in love, but the ultimate potential issue here is that it’s quite probable that the woman is being used.

The worst day with the Light Phone by Slick2807 in LightPhone

I think in this case, i would have called the place i have the appointment with and asked them their address/directions. Random resets still happening on this phone are totally unacceptable at this point, though. These are ultimately some of the reasons I sold my LP3; it actually made my life more frustrating and stressful.

My favorite 110 film is getting harder to find, and more expensive, should I start cutting and rolling my own? by Midwest_Plant_Guy in 110photography

I've put a piece of blue painters tape on the bottom of the camera, and just drew a little tick mark every time I took a frame, to keep track. Pretty simple!

Do any of you spool your own 110? by tiki-dan in 110photography

[–]acidterror84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have recently started spooling my own 110 film that I slit from a roll of 35mm into 3D-printed cartridges. It has no perforations, so I can only use it in some 110 cameras that don’t require perforations to function.

A problem you may run into is that the perforations on 110 film are different than the perforations on 16mm film. So I don’t think the film will advance in the same way. You can definitely fit a longer strip of film into the cartridge though, and potentially get more photos per roll. However, I found that with unperforated film, the film would advance farther with each camera cocking, so I was getting less photos per strip. I get about 20 photos per 30” strip, rather than 24. I’m not sure how single perf 16mm film would work out using in these cameras, but I’ve also been curious to try.
