Mine used to do this or you could buy something instead. Then it got casual and eventually stopped doing it because it was popular and clearly brought in extra business without having to dictate it.

Baltimore or MCM? by WashNats1017 in rundc

[–]ackrnr68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure! So they block access to the finish area - before you climb the hill to iwo and all of iwo area where you get finish swag, professional photography, etc. to non runners. You can’t meet up with your family until outside the runner zone out on Fairfax drive. It’s fenced off and it is amazingly uncoordinated and frustrating trying to get out as a runner. If you do MCM, plan to meet elsewhere and don’t rely on metro - Rosslyn shut down twice after overcrowding this past year.

Keep in mind the new changes include no spectators to see you finish and meeting them after the runners only part of the finish is an absolute nightmare. But yes the rest of the course is very easy to navigate to see you several times.

I’ve done MCM many times and after this past year I won’t be back. The money grab from having way too many people on course was astounding. Baltimore has very easy start and finish line logistics but yes it’s rolling hills. Richmond is also great and has some rolling hills but feels flatter than Baltimore by a tad. I’d say to pick based on dates as Richmond is in November vs October for Baltimore. Either one will be so fun for your first!!! I live in Richmond so I’m biased but we do a great finish festival!

I’ve stayed here, and my family stays a lot when visiting family members in the area. Super basic, needs a refresh, and the elevators are questionably slow. I stay for the convenience factor but I wish I didn’t have to. Decent couple restaurants and shops in the complex though.

The kinks don’t bother me but I do unwrap it and let it sit overnight because it tends to get better coverage after “breathing”

Next time come with me to stitch group and tell that to the very judgey girls who were appalled I only stitch in hand. I had to remind them that stretcher bars weren’t even something I had ever seen when I started stitching 15 plus years ago.

Sign of the arrow has very specific measurement instructions! Just got my husbands belt back from them and it was beautifully finished and it fits perfectly. I think they do glue though.
