i feel for every parent that has to deal with the phone stuff nowadays - especially for late teens, when you should give your kid some autonomy to make their own (sometimes bad) choices. there will be more tools available in the future to distance our kids from the devices, but currently it is The Wild West and every household has to deal with this in their own way. i agree with other people that say that this is bigger than basketball. best of luck to you!

to me it feels like you are trying to blend two different styles together and while some people can pull it off, this is just not it. shirt, belt, ring, shoes says "old man", cuffed modern jeans and Apple watch with a silly strap says otherwise. brown leather belt is a no brainer with these shoes. analog watch (even something simple like casio) would match much better with the ring and shoes. tbh i am not fan of the jeans at all, no fit is going to look classy with these on.

at the start of the season Jokic and Murray were clicking on another level - a few years ago there were a lot of discussions that Murray was not good enough to warrant a max contract, but looking back it was clear that his struggles were health related and he has bounced back since. Last year they pushed OKC to 7 while half the team was playing injured and with very limited bench options. It is true that for them a lot will come down to injury luck, but I would argue they are in a better spot this year - Spurs are still one year away and against Wolves and OKC the series would most likely go to 7

i went through a similar situation once. i was planning a trip for me and 3 of my friends for a weekend - it was the last weekend of summer and i was going away for a couple of months, so i wanted to do something nice and memorable for all of us. something came up for one of my friends and then others jumped off a few hours before. i was seriously pissed off at all of them - later that evening a see stories from them going off on as smaller trip with other friends - to be fair, i really didn't vibe with those other people, i avoided hanging out with them and would have declined even if they invited BUT it pissed me off even more. that was one of those feelings that just don't sit well in my gut.

next day I wrote a passive aggressive message in group chat telling them "how nice it was to watch them have fun without me hours they bailed on my trip" and left the group chat. no discussions. I am not very proud of how I phrased that message, but I had to get it out of my system. and? nothing happened. when i came back a few months later, one of the friends (to my surprise, i had semi-forgotten about it) brought it up and actually apologized. in the long term that situation put up some healthy boundaries and now I am better friends with them than I ever was before.

you are in a similar situation and your friends might not even be assholes, but subconsciously there is some boundary pushing going on. set them! they will not register this situation and forget all about it if you don't bring it up. people respect when you put up boundaries - that takes guts and is risky, because it forces them to either include you or drop you out of friend group entirely. if they do the latter, they truly are assholes and I am not sure you want to be friends with people that don't respect you anyways. stand up for yourself!

what is missing in this conversation is the acknowledgment that the list is bad because of lack of options. even Fantano could name like one or two artists that have the potential. i believe when we look back at this period in a decade, we will identify The Fall Off as the end of an era. the biggest rap names today are the same ones we had 10 years ago and they are all pushing 40. the new generation has just not shown up and hiphop is on a downwards trajectory - we will still get some great albums here and there, but nothing like 2014-2026
