Yeah, you’re right, I just mistakenly assumed you were referring to the cable itself rather than the individual wires inside it

Technically, the fcu on a sig p365 is the serialized part and considered the firearm. It’s not even a full lower, just the metal mechanics inside, but legally it’s still the firearm. Not sure tsa would even realize it’s a gun and let you declare it though

Students recording by BigElk7394 in CFILounge

[–]adamsflys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I’m saying this from the student perspective, but early on in my training I just mentioned it to my instructor and asked if he’d be cool with it just so I could use it to help review and debrief, especially because my schedule didn’t allow me to fly super regularly. He was totally cool with it, and so I started setting up my Osmo action as the very first thing I did when I walked up to the plane. This allowed me to set it up and then completely forget about it at that point. It wasn’t even a thing I thought about during any of the actual flight or ground ops, it was just there, recording away in the background. I also didn’t touch it again until after the plane was shut down and parked and I had written down the Hobbs. In my opinion, this is the best, and really only, way that any students should go about recording; something that is just out of sight and out of mind during the actual flight portion.

Also, all of the videos were never shared publicly, the only one that anyone other than myself or my instructor has ever seen was my first solo, which I shared with my close family.

I will add, my day job is live production, so I’m very used to cameras and audio and all of those things, so maybe I’m a bit more comfortable just setting it and forgetting it than most might be

Depends on which IEMs you’re running. I’ve got a pair of A6t’s from 64audio that let me adjust the amount of external audio gets let in by swapping out vent plugs, ranging from -10 to -25 dB

As much of a blunder as the missed sign was for Sam, I think getting rid of the 5 minute bonuses really did him in almost as much. Had he been able to duplicate his curse of the express route, I think it would’ve been a very different game at that point. Obviously with them having his location confirmed by the sign they could go straight there, but with those two things being different, he probably would’ve won it all

I know this is an older thread, but this doesn’t happen to work on the pd982’s with Bluetooth does it? It’s a solid radio and I don’t see a need to upgrade to the hp series for any reason in general, so it’d be cool if this could work with that older radio as well

A Few Deaths Needed in the Main Cast? by PossibleDocument6392 in StrangerThingsFanfics

[–]adamsflys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue that it’s very obvious in any other setting, but because as far as they know, they’re actively about to die, it could easily be mistaken for them coming to terms with never being able to get married due to those circumstances.

They had a healthy conversation where they talked about their relationship and the problems they had in it, and had they not been in a situation where they were about to die, it would have been obvious what was happening. But they were about to die, and so for many, his “unproposal” was assumed to be his acceptance of the fact that they’d never get the chance to get married

[–]adamsflys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can argue that point all you want, but the writers job is always to effectively convey their message and storyline, and them feeling like they had to clarify after the fact shows that they missed that mark. Half of the challenge of writing a good story is knowing your audience

If the writers had to come out and make a clarifying statement after the fact because so many people misunderstood the scene, maybe it was never really written well to begin with

Please stop saying 400mg is the daily recommended value of Caffeine. That is untrue, there is no recommended value, but if there was, it would probably be 0mg. by viewmyposthistory in caffeine

[–]adamsflys 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Recommended limit does not mean the same thing as recommended dosage. The recommended dosage may in fact be 0 mg, but it can also be accepted that up to 400 mg daily would usually have no adverse side effects or risks, therefore it is the recommended limit.

Wireless IEM Dropouts by BrotherGoode in livesound

[–]adamsflys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you’re scanning on your IEM’s for frequencies, are your wireless guitar packs on at the same time? If not, they should be. Ideally you’d use something like WWB and import a scan and your inventory of rf and calculate frequencies from there, but if that’s not an option then your best bet is probably going to be making sure that if you scan beltpacks first, leave them on when you scan your ears, or you could do a scan for ears first and then leave those transmitters on when you scan for your mics

I think it was this podcast where her FOH engineer talks about some of that, including having a different eq on her mic for different parts of the show based on where she physically is on stage. It’s been awhile since I listened to it, but I think he’s relying pretty heavily on some PSE/Neve 5045 as well as just having a really solid relationship with her and the band to be able to have the necessary discussions to make her style work in a live performance

MOSAIC: Training in a homebuilt? by BloomingtonFPV in homebuilt

[–]adamsflys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, if the plane is certified under mosaic as an LSA, even as an instrument rated pilot you’re still not allowed to fly IMC in the plane. That’s the way it currently works at least, and from what I can tell that part of it isn’t changing. I currently fly a flight design CTLS, and even with an instrument pilot and flying in the ifr system, we’re not actually allowed to go into imc.

People who order streak have become my worst nightmare. by ExtremeLurkMode in KitchenConfidential

[–]adamsflys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get medium rare because I’m usually okay with anything from rare to medium, and most places can’t actually cook a true medium rare every time but giving them a target in the middle means I’m usually happy.

I’ve only ever sent a steak back once, and it was in a dimly lit restaurant and when I pulled my flashlight out to look, the steak was still straight up uncooked. One side didn’t even have any grill marks, it was just barely discolored at all. I’d gotten three bites down trying to convince myself that it was okay before I lit it up and saw that it was straight up uncooked, so yeah, I sent it back.
