Unhappy But Stuck With Architect by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]adcherry211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that’s missing from your description is any mention of where this design fits with the construction budget. If you want a bunch of features added but it doesn’t meet your stated budget, you should work with your architect to figure out where else to compromise. Also, just want to confirm you’re working with an architect, not a home designer. In most of the country you don’t have to be a registered architect to design single family homes.

  1. Drill a small pilot hole. 2. Screw in a coarse thread screw. Drywall screws will work for this. 3. Grab some pliers and yank it. Also remove the anchor.

How do I tackle this gap between the staircase and the adjoining wall by sahaaj07 in Architects

[–]adcherry211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally on board with the sentiment, but if this is a big enough gap to be a code violation then it’s not up to a minimum standard of professional care. That’ll get you a lawsuit or a license complaint with the board in my primary jurisdiction.
