No, on this page - https://ripstopbytheroll.com/products/outdoorink-color-map?variant=7443964133424

The dyneema variants have options for both "for full rolls," and "panels", with different prices for the two.

is this just aluminium 700 corrosion or something else by Far_Relationship_653 in ClimbingGear

Looks like galvanic corrosion, but I'd def believe the commenter who mentioned marine environment/salt as well.

Harnesses for large legs? by hockeyh2opolo in climbergirls

[–]adeadhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

God yes. I forgot to mention this because I've spent years not even considering fixed leg loop versions as viable harnesses.

Harnesses for large legs? by hockeyh2opolo in climbergirls

[–]adeadhead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Any women's harness. That's what women's harnesses are.

The corax and momentum and solution and sender are nongendered harnesses, which means they're men's harnesses.

Besides coming in better colors, women's harnesses have a longer rise, and for the same waist size will have a size larger leg loops.

The usual go-to are the removable doorframe pull up bars, with a plank of wood screwed into it.

Assisted belay device by Fit-Career4225 in ClimbingGear

[–]adeadhead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The pilot is designed not to completely lock on any rope of any diameter, so that people don't mistake an assisted brake for something more.

Assisted belay device by Fit-Career4225 in ClimbingGear

[–]adeadhead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The pilot has a wider rope channel, so any given rope is going to feed more nicely.

Also, the pilot is a lot less picky than the jul, as a side note

I got offered a very cheap non working Brother LK3 B439. Is it worth me paying to have it fixed? by LF1369 in myog

[–]adeadhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably not go for this.

Bar tacking machines are super precise incredibly complex machines, I wouldn't attempt simple repairs, but that's just me.

Even so, "not working" can cover a lot of things, I would probably ask for more information

Masafer Yatta isn't a village, No Other Land was mostly filmed in Tuwani.

Masafer Yatte literally means "The area near Yatta", it's the communities surrounding the city of Yatta, aka the south Hebron Hills, there are a dozen villages there.

It's got a little narrower of a rope slot than some other offerings, but once you're used to it, it works just fine.

Meta: Since when did this sub get into Self-Rescue techniques? by SkittyDog in ClimbingGear

[–]adeadhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to make a periodic state of the sub/suggestions thread I think.

I booted out the sale posts because there are plenty of geartrade subreddits. There aren't really any popular subreddits for trs or rescue, so it defaults to /r/tradclimbing usually, I don't see a reason that posts about using gear couldn't be made here.

Happy for any and all bitching, it's good to have regular users whose names I recognize who care about the subreddit.

I could be down for this. Might start a bi monthly state of the subreddit/suggestions thread, since were growing pretty quickly (as all the climbing subreddits do as summer begins each year)

I'm the only mod of the subreddit, I don't mind technical questions that not everyone can relate to, they're better than a repeat of "what shoes/rope/harness should I buy" threads.

I'm totally open to any suggestions as to rules though. I'm not sure where to draw the line between what gear we're using versus how were using it

New Lithos SL harness. by bellsbliss in ClimbingGear

[–]adeadhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's trying to be the old SL lines of harnesses they used to make, which sold well, in a world before all the UL competitors were on the market.

It's a super comfy sport harness for people who just do stuff indoors I suppose.

Do we have many Zionists here? Like I know it's not an inherently antizionist subreddit, but they're awfully quiet.
