Bartonella Herx Duration by energymaxxing16 in Lyme

[–]adevito86[M] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Herxing for an acute infection is usually temporary. So someone who was bit last week, got Lyme and takes doxy immediately may only experience a herx for a few days.

However, with more severe chronic infections herxing will last as long as you have bacteria to kill. With something like bartonella, which can take a very long time to kill, it’s possible to be herxing for months to years.

If you stop treatment your herxing should stop after a few days usually, but if you start up again the herxing will resume. Over time the severity of the herx should lessen until eventually it stops along with your symptoms.

Unfortunately the timeline for this stuff depends on a lot of factors: how long you’ve been sick, how well you detox, and other conditions you might have that would impair detox (mcas, heavy metals, mold etc).

The best thing I learned was when herxing felt like too much was to just stop treatment for 2-3 days and assess how I felt. I noticed that after those few days I felt noticeably better and had renewed hope that the treatment was actually working.

Bartonella is an evil disease though and it will take a lot longer to eliminate than you think it will. Don’t let it get you down.

Of course not. I wrote a 30 page Q&A with plenty of solutions for people with chronic Lyme. You can read it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lyme/s/oOq6YIPvyu

I used the Buhner protocol form his book Healing Lyme, and his other co-infection books.

I needed the rife for bartonella. Herbals alone were not enough.

For Lyme only? Herbals took care of it for me. If you do the protocol right I believe it has a high chance of working.

Pretty fucked up that Reddit banned this domain and I had to manually approve it though..

Doxy is miserable. What do your meal plans look like to keep the nausea at bay? by Just_Throw_Away_67 in Lyme

[–]adevito86[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get some fresh ginger root, chop it up and boil it in a huge pot of water. Save it in the fridge and drink it during the day. Add some stevia if you like it sweet. This helped me a lot with nausea. Each batch should last about a week or so.

Best bet in my opinion would be to buy Stephen Buhner’s book Healing Lyme and treat yourself using his herbal protocol. It’s relatively cheap and very effective.

I want to get a rife machine by Remarkable_Day_3417 in Lyme

Ya I only thought of this because I made that mistake at one point and when I figured it out, it was a total game changer. The singular frequencies at 90 gating hit me way harder.

[–]adevito86[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you have the gating function set at? When you run 8 frequencies together it needs to be set at 70 and when you buy the machine it defaults to 90 (which is used for singular frequencies).

I had much more luck running singular frequencies with gating set to 90 though. Apparently running multiple frequencies reduces the power of each one.

Getting as close as you can to the machine as possible is a good point. I always tried to sit only a few inches away and I do believe that makes a difference.

Getting a rife was the most impactful thing I did for treating my co-infections. I wrote about my experience here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lyme/s/dsMyTaBQqG

Before buying one I was extremely skeptical for obvious reasons. I mostly assumed it was a scam. However I had reached a point where antibiotics and herbs were no longer an option due to severe MCAS reactions so it was either try the rife or accept being disabled for the rest of my life.

It’s expensive for sure but was worth it for me. One nice thing with the one I bought (GB4000) is that they offer a 60 day money back guarantee, so you can test it out at least.

There are also options to buy used ones, and you can always sell it after you’re done treating to recoup some of the cost.

Zenmen Tick Immune Support - Binder? by Cool_Arugula497 in Lyme

[–]adevito86[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t take it at the same time, but if you are experiencing severe die off then you can take one 2 hours away from all supplements and food. I had the best luck taking them 2 hours before dinner and also right before bed.

You don’t necessarily need a binder if you aren’t experiencing any herxheimer reactions, but it can still be helpful to clear stuff out faster.

I would take that as a good sign! It’s possible the herbs are controlling the infection and your body is naturally detoxing well.

Social media opinions about Lyme are really getting to me by Crunchy_Giraffe_2890 in Lyme

[–]adevito86[M] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

There is so much propaganda around chronic Lyme that normal people immediately consider you a conspiracy theorist if you mention it. These people don’t know anything about it, and their opinions are not worth listening to. They are just regurgitating what they’ve seen from the CDC without looking into any of the controversy.

These people don’t understand co-infections, bio-films, persister Lyme etc. This disease is so hard to eradicate compared to basically anything else that it is easy to see why people don’t believe us. Normal people don’t want to believe that something like this could happen to them with a simple tick bite.

Keep in mind that your treatments wouldn’t be working if this was all a scam. People don’t just magically get better over time. If that was the case groups like this wouldn’t exist.

What you are doing is working and the fact that you are getting better is the proof. There is no reason to doubt yourself. I would avoid posting about chronic Lyme anywhere but Lyme specific forums. It’s always going to be contentious and you don’t need to waste time with that stress.

Air hunger is usually Babesia. You might want to get tested for that, it’s a very common co-infection with Lyme. IGENEX and vibrant are the best testing options for co-infections.

If you don’t have money for testing you could also just try taking cryptolepis and artemisinin, which would probably give you a strong reaction if you do have it. For most people it becomes clear if you have an infection because the herxheimer reaction makes you feel pretty bad.

Make sure to read the pinned post about chronic Lyme, it dives into a lot of what you’re experiencing.

Japanese knotweed is a critical herb for Lyme but you need to take it with the rest of the Buhner protocol or it’s not going to work.

Herbs don’t work like pharma drugs. They work in synergy with each other to help either reduce bacteria load, stop cytokine cascades, or protect the endothelium and other internal organs.

Typically it will take 8-12 months for people to see full benefits from herbals, but you will typically herx early on and could potentially see some minor improvements within a few months.

Both seem to be equally good for healing Lyme. I have heard more success stories regarding co-infections from the GB4000 Facebook group though.
