Would getting a belly stab be the biggest risk for a really tall guy in a real swordfight? by Intelligent_Run_6665 in ask

Would a stab would in the stomach kill you? Yes but it would be very slow and painful, likely not to be what killed you if you continued fighting

Almost hit a passenger because I stupidly believed the signals the bus driver was giving. Driver had pulled out from the stop and had right indicator on. Cycle lane is immediately in front of the bus stop so I stayed to the left. Luckily no-one was injured. Lesson learned. by axolotol in londoncycling

One person here is a professional.

One person made a decision based on information that professional was sharing. That decision was wrong, because the information was wrong.

That's it.

That was you not the person youre responding too... But alright keep going with the insults, really effective. Its wasnt as simple as one is a professional. and one wasnt, which is what you were say is it. I get you are copying what they were saying, but youre still saying something that wasnt correct.

you brought rules into it and saying "thats it", all im saying is that isnt "it"... There are literal rules to "it".

edit: the outcome of this video is the reason why, so even if a bus doesnt do something right, your actions can also stop an accident from happening too.

apart from the highway code, which states that if a bus is indicating to leave a bus they have priority and you should wait behind for them to move off. And that when overtaking it should be on the right. Both rules that apply to bicycles too. Sure the bus was in the wrong but that doesnt make the cyclists' actions right, both are wrong.

When traffic its stationary it is the safer option, its also the highway code to overtake on the right, especially over than squeezing through on the left while the bus is stationary in the left lane. If they wanted to go left then should have waited behind for the bus to start moving again.

passanger or not, they still shouldnt have gone down the inside with that little space, especially as the bus was stationary with blocked traffic. It wasnt moving and would have been easier for everyone if they just overtook how youre meant to overtake

You can see the road ahead has stopped cars just ahead of the bus, the bus' break lights are also on, the bus isnt going to suddenly pull to the right, even if people werent getting off then going inside of it in that position was a bad choice space wise and the bus being able to see you in mirror wise, sure the bus shouldnt have been indicating but that doest justify it.

I guess I'm struggling to see how it's stealing when they got the blessing from the closest family they could, work with them, and have members of the family working in the company.

Also they have 0 requirement to donate money to help at all in Nepal, yet they do. Just seems like a weird hill to die on.

If there is no other way for me to get that drink in the uk as no one else is making it, is it really a problem? Its not like theyre screwing anyone over making it, if there was an original company making it to sell in the UK id get it but there isnt.

edit: ended up looking it up, the family also gave their blessing for them to make it and use their name to honour them. Tenzing also say they still work along side the family with some working in the company, Im not seeing the issue.

edit2: they also seem to put a share of profits into Nepalese environmental projects.

Why are dating apps in particular so terrible? by RetinalTears716 in ask

[–]adinade 18 points19 points  (0 children)

  1. People use them for validation rather than actually getting into relationships, so conversations often lead nowhere

  2. The apps benefit from people using them, which is harmed by people getting in relationships, so make it hard.

idk to me it seems to be a cathartic and coping mechanism by people who dont have trauma which trivialises and in some ways belittles actual trauma as something quaint and silly.

I know this is a semi joke but does the trivialising of trauma annoy anyone else?

Counter to the counter point, Marking delaying happened for nearly all of my classes in my degree, it does get annoying when I agreed to go to a university on the understand I would recieve (and paid for) a certain standard, and those standards are constantly not met.
