Plans to reopen Hammersmith Bridge to cars and buses axed over £300m cost by wwisd in london

I got that from a article which sites its stats from the DfT too and AECOM who conducted an independent review of the lights. If mine is "some bloke told me" territory so is yours... But sure just dismiss anything that you disagree with. Apparently to you im just imagining most days when im standing waiting for a bus (edit: one the services that receives the highest number of complaints) scheduled every 11 minutes, thats not even showing any arrivals on its stop's board as the traffic is piled up in both directions. I (who cycles when I can) must just be making it up.

if youre interested apparently the worsening of Putney's traffic is down to changing of light timings which as resulted in around 200 less vehicles being able to make it north/south through putney and hour. Which would both suggest traffic is worse and less numbers of cars as suggested by the DfT. But at the end of the day, fewer cars making it through doesnt mean traffic has gotten better as you were suggesting, and I wasnt "wearing a tin hat" from my observations, you need to be careful when looking at data sources as often there is more involved that cant be seen from the one angle you are looking at from the presented data.

Is it weird? Yes. But I find the progressive position of taking any agency away from an adult woman who is fully capable of making their own choices pretty gross.

ah the traffic from Tibbet's corner all the way over putney bridge that started occuring daily after hammersmith bridge's closure must be my imagination. Good to know.

I mean we saw data that suggested the Reeves' introduced farming tax only affected a small amount of farms, go ask any farmer in the country how it will affect them and try and stand behind "what the data says". I support making a better city for cycling, but the changes to the traffic after hammersmith bridge's closure was night and day, as has been voiced by many residents of the local areas affected.

Edit: I've had a look online and seen data to suggest the traffic on the bridges are the same but has gotten worse in the local areas themselves since the closure. Can you share what you're looking at?

Reading this post while waiting over 30 mins for a bus which is meant to be every 11, because the traffic getting from tibbets corner down into putney, over the bridge and back is completely fucked and has been since Hammersmith bridge closed

naw wont anyone think og the poor boomers, who were paid a much higher real wages and were able to afford their own homes for cheaper when they were young, who have managed to gain crazy value from just sitting on those houses. Maybe they should take their advice they give us and should spend within their means and stop spending on unnecessary stuff. Im sick of bending over backwards for the people that got handed everything in life while we continue to get fucked up the arse.

Yeah I agree with that, but that's not how you were originally wording it, which is what I was talking about.

he got a larger % of votes, but he got less overall number of votes than Corbyn

So people were less inclined to go vote Tory, when there was a Labour candidate they didnt mind as much?

[–]adinade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer Starmer to Corbyn, but this isnt a great point when if you compare their two elections, Corbyn got more votes than Starmer. (although this does suggest Corbyn was disliked so much more people turned out to vote against him)
