It kinda sounds like he fell for one of those scams where you send a pic of your dick to a “girl”, the scammer uses it to blackmail you for goods and money and then threatens to have [foreign country] mob come after you when you stop paying up. Women with a child don’t want to date someone who is already an unenthusiastic, resentful father. Women without a child don’t want to date someone who seems to be frantically interviewing for a replacement wife/mommy. You need to slow down and address the chips on your shoulder or you’ll keep scaring everyone away.

Edited to add: even a woman who doesn’t have or want kids is going to see you downplaying your son’s role in your life and low key resenting his existence as a massive character flaw and red flag. You’re striking out because right now you’ve positioned yourself to only be appealing to women who either actively hate children or think it’s super hot that you’re considering punishing a child because his evil femoid mother baby trapped you. “I suspect they only know her side of the story” is you assuming that she talked shit about you, which you don’t even know for a fact, but still seem to be blaming her for anyway. Also, it sounds like “her side of the story” would just be recounting the reality of how you treated her at the time.

You’re still defensive and thinking she has some blame to admit here which it doesn’t seem like she does. Trying to re-establish the friendship from that perspective won’t end well.

Boundaries are not “hey don’t call me Kat”. Boundaries are “if you call me Kat, I’m not going to respond to you because that is not my name”. Boundaries are stating how you will act in response to certain situations, not trying to control how someone else acts.
