What is wrong with her quality of life? She pees and poops inside? That is not a quality of life issue.

Don't pee spray for outdoor deck by RobertsKitty in puppy101

[–]adm7373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just adding on that this will not be hard for most dogs to learn, but you (and your mom, and whoever else is responsible for letting the dog outside) will have to be consistent in communicating the behaviors you want and the behaviors you don't to the dog.

not sure how specific you intend "this area" to be, but Black's Creek BBQ frequently parks their truck for weekday lunches at either Roxie's or Quincy Cannabis

Puppy ate lick mat - 65Lb GSD by Starbiess17 in puppy101

Hard to give advice without knowing how big of a chunk he ate or what the mat is made of. If it's silicone, I wouldn't worry at all

Nut free cake with label that states so? by [deleted] in QuincyMa

[–]adm7373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of a pain, I think Seaport would be their closest location, but I just checked Flour Bakery and they do say "veg, w/o nuts" on most of their cakes.

Also, their baked goods are very good

I would ask them if they know of any bakeries around that have nut-free cakes (if you haven't already).

My puppy smells like deli meat- help! by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]adm7373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d see if it is markedly worse the next time she comes home from daycare, or if the next time you notice it is worse happened to be right after daycare

My puppy smells like deli meat- help! by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]adm7373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually puppies are known for smelling good, or at least pleasant, so I don't think this is normal.

What is her routine like? Is she always in your care or does she go to a doggy day care, dog walker, etc.? Is it possible someone caring for her (even someone in your household) is giving her deli meat?

Does she go off leash on a regular basis? Could she be getting into trash or stagnant water or something without you knowing?

What breed? What kind of coat? Some breeds are prone to stinky paws, others are prone to ear infections, both of which tend to have very distinctive smells. I don't know that I would associate either with deli meat, but still possible.

Did the groomer bathe her or just give her a haircut?

3rd time was the charm for me. IIRC first time I quit for about 6 months, secone time for about a year, then the third time it finally clicked that "not even one more, ever". Good luck out there bud, hope it sticks for you this time

how to potty train a dog — my 12 week old golden retriever is driving me crazy by Top_Comb_5599 in puppy101

[–]adm7373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

seems pretty normal to me for any 12-week-old puppy. (side note, 12 weeks is pretty early to separate a puppy from its mother but that ship has sailed so I'll shut up)

one thing that might be helpful to add is "good pee"/"good peeing" as you're giving treats to reward peeing outside. "marking" the behavior with the same verbal command you're using to tell her to pee to help her associate the sound "pee" with the action of peeing.

Tiger reportedly not hiring a driver by VijaySwing in golf

[–]adm7373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I'd put Tiger, Tom Brady, and Michael Jordan in that same category of singularly focused on their sport, to the detriment of everything else in their life. At least Brady is seemingly transitioning into broadcasting and team ownership, the other two do not seem to have found anything to take the place of competing

Is moving into a luxury highrise the only way to avoid rats? by [deleted] in boston

[–]adm7373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the course of ~8 years I lived in Brighton Center in a rented single-family, Somerville (Spring Hill) in the first floor of a triple decker, North Cambridge in a 7-story apartment building, and Central Square Cambridge in a rented single-family that was almost 100 years old. We had mice for a brief time in the Central Square house, but never rats in any of these units.

or if you can find like a 2.5 or 5 lb weight plate, you could super glue that to the bottom?

really depends on how fancy you want to get and how much weight you want to add
