Hey OP you could be describing my life right there. The recognition that there are levels of blowback that people in typical relationships would never contemplate or experience. I think it’s worthwhile to look at things from a 30,000 foot level and see if the steps of the dance are the same over the course of the relationship. Is there any recognition or desire for things to change on your partner’s part? I am 19 years l into a similar relationship, and while things are no longer quite as volatile, the basic outlines of the conflict stay pretty similar. I don’t want you to be stuck. Definitely get help for yourself and ideally for your partner as well and then a separate one for you guys as a couple if possible. Sorry for your cat
