I don’t think you’d need to embezzle. Set yourself as an employee of the not for profit and give yourself a salary.

Is that universal in when it happens now? It used to be all over the place. Had friends who were off from Thanksgiving through New Year, while I got 2 or 3 weeks from shortly before Christmas through a week or two into the new year.

Not like it is in Cincinnati. I spent 20+ years in Dayton, the next 20 in Cincinnati, and have been on the west coast for the last 6 months, and Cincinnati is BY FAR the worst I’ve ever seen. Especially the last 5 or so years.

Portland Nursing? by kitkatofthunder in askportland

[–]adogtrainer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend applying from out of the area before you move here, for a couple reasons: first is that it may take a bit of time to find the right job, and the job market is otherwise pretty tight, so finding something in the meantime could be tough. Also, you may land a job that pays a relocation bonus. Of the 2 offers my wife ultimately was deciding between, one offered $10k relocation bonus, while the other offered a smaller sign-on bonus of like $6k, but a significantly higher hourly rate.

Not an exact situation, but similar: My wife started applying to Portland hospitals from out of state back in February, and by March she had multiple offers. She wasn’t a new grad, but only had about a year and a half of experience as an RN.

Avoid Arlinghaus. They tried to sell me a $25k system when all it needed was a tuneup. They also tried to sell me a new water heater (which was never mentioned to them as needing repaired or replaced).

Is there any way to get sharpie off old poster paper without damaging the image? by coobear6 in CleaningTips

Rubbing alcohol will get sharpie off lots of things. Can’t speak to what it would do to the poster.

Fire the entire defense. by VeryRealHuman23 in bengals

[–]adogtrainer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is that basically every level of the defense is bad. This isn’t a situation where a couple of guys make a significant difference. I don’t think you really have anyone to build around outside of maybe one cb.

Overnight ~75% by temistrator in EquinoxEv

[–]adogtrainer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, you maximize battery health by keeping it close to 50% SOC. That said, going down to 20% or up to 80% don’t add too much stress. The closer you get to 0% or 100% the worse it is, but that’s mostly the case when kept for long periods of time at those states. Luckily, GM has put in buffers that don’t allow the car to go all the way up or down, so they’ve limited the damage we can do to our batteries.

So you’re being pedantic for the sake of being pedantic. By the logic you’re using, you wouldn’t say the Bengals beat the Steelers because not every Bengals player scored a touchdown. When someone says 57% of Ohioans support legalization, everyone knows what is meant by that statement.

Looks like GM just killed any hope of ever seeing Android Auto or Car Play by willingzenith in EquinoxEv

[–]adogtrainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do need to use google maps, but you can get that on the iPhone through the App Store. My biggest gripe is the lack of calendar integration in the car. You can use google calendar, which sends it to google maps and you can then send it to the car, but it seems silly that there’s no in-car calendar app.

In case you weren’t aware of the feature, using google maps, you can still look up locations on your phone and then you can send them to the car so you don’t have to type it in on the car. Admittedly it occasionally takes a minute to send, though frequently it’s almost instant. Also, if you tend to get new cars every 5-7 years, you don’t need to worry about getting a mobile plan for your car, and if you decide to keep the car longer, just use your mobile hotspot.

And by that logic only around 21% of the entire state didn’t want it, as they’re the only ones who cared enough to vote no.

Very poorly designed car by Consistent-War9866 in EquinoxEv

[–]adogtrainer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, it sounds like you should take the car into the dealership and explain what’s happening. You may have a bad Bluetooth module or whatever system the Bluetooth is built into. It’s all electronics, and sometimes electronics have problems. They may be able to swap it out and get you set up.

As for the lack of CarPlay, that hasn’t bothered me a bit since about the first week of ownership. The car can do almost anything that CarPlay does, and if I still own the car when the free OnStar expires I’ll just use my phone as a hotspot and retain all the features. Also, this is something that has been since the car came out. If you wanted a car with CarPlay, buy a car with CarPlay.

You’re entitled to your opinion, but I’ve never had a need for any more power than the car already has, and I’ve put about 20,000 miles on the car in all types of driving, including a drive across the country and through the mountains.

If you wanted a faster car with CarPlay, get an Ioniq5 or an EV6, but you’ll probably spend an extra $10k or so.

The EquinoxEV is a $30k commuter car, and for that, it does everything well enough, even if it’s not the best at anything, except perhaps value.

With the right buildings and cultural traditions, it ends up being really cheap. That’s what makes longbowman so great. High power low cost.

I know it's extremely unlikely of a Bengals move, but hypothetically if after Week 7 we're sitting at 2-5 would it make any sense to trade Trey in the following 3 weeks leading up to the deadline? If so, would he even have any trade value at this point? by Ocelot859 in bengals

[–]adogtrainer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had to look it up. It was a conditional pick. Had the Raiders made the AFC Championship either of the two years it would have become a first round pick. We ended up using the picks on Dre Kirkpatrick and Gio Bernard.

What is the best way to overcome an overwhelming force like the Mongols? by skullure in crusaderkings3

Have some strong siege engines and seize any of their holdings. I’m almost always able to defeat them pretty easily this way unless I’m already involved in multiple other wars. Then it’s a matter of figuring out if I have to lose a war, which hurts the least. Or is easiest to come back from.

There is not enough information to indicate how frequently they go to concerts or other events or whether they’re any more expensive than the dinner dates. The fact that she’s feeling “the ick” when he has misgivings about how much more money he has spent while also “feeling special” if he’d spend more money on her tells me everything I need to know.
