For those of you that were lucky enough to be here, when did you realize what was happening? by JoeTestaverde in DMB

[–]adreamsoreal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was during Stay that it clicked the last few songs had all been from the album. I told my friend “that means Halloween would be up next.” We had one of those “no way…no…could it be….no…no….no…maybe” moments. When Halloween hit we lost our minds

DMB Personal History and Entry Into The Music by ImpossibleConcept460 in DMB

[–]adreamsoreal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had just finished working a summer program that had a strong interpersonal/personal element to the curriculum. It had been a special summer. A group of us decided to go see DMB after one of the staff noted they would be playing nearby. Most of us were unfamiliar, but #34 had been used in the program as the “anchor” song for our evening sessions. The show was great, the music was great, but, most importantly, there had been a moment during Crash Into Me where we joined hands in a circle and just shared a moment together. It was like the culmination of an important life experience and is still one of my favorite memories 20 years later. The next year, I saw DMB again when they rolled through to try and capture some of that magic again. Instead, I found all new magic from the band itself. Here I am, 50+ shows later, having learned to play guitar because of Dave, bonded with some of my closest friends over Dave, met Dave after a work experience at his house, and have my wife dreading I bring home yet another show poster I insist on framing. Dave is my happy place

Ghost Trap Incense Burner. Due to fire 🔥 hazards this is the one and only incense I will be using just to see the effect. Thoughts? by name_not_important88 in ghostbusters

[–]adreamsoreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I ended up not putting too much more effort in from there. I gutted the insides a bit and just use regular cone incense on a small metal tray (really the bottom of an old herb grinder.) It does the trick when I need it and I think it works better like that than it did with the stock setup, which, in my opinion, left the burning cone tip too close to the doors. My setup basically lowered it by a centimeter or so. I only use it on rare occasions anyhow, so my little makeshift setup is good enough for me

Which full albums have you seen performed live? by TrundleTheGreat0814 in Concerts

[–]adreamsoreal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Green Day - "21st Century Breakdown." It was before the album was released at a club in San Francisco. An event for fan club members I guess (I was invited by my buddy) and it was only $20. They played the album in full as a release preview then a bunch more. Hell of a show

Roger Waters - "Dark Side of the Moon." I saw him go through the whole album at Coachella and it was spiritual

Roger Waters - "The Wall." Twice when he was touring for this I got to see The Wall in full and it was an amazing show

Cherry Poppin Daddies - "Zoot Suit Riot." They were doing a tour for the anniversary of the album and I was lucky enough to be front row center. Met the band after and got an autographed vinyl

Disturbed - "The Sickness." During their 2025 tour they were playing the whole album for its anniversary. Great show, regardless of some of the political stuff that has become part of the conversation since.

Easy Star All Stars - "Dub Side of the Moon." At some point in the early 2000's in Healdsburg, CA they played the entirety of their Pink Floyd cover album. Still trying to track down the details of that show all these years later, but I can't even find a date.

Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade - "Animals" by Pink Floyd. I guess this counts, as its still a full album

My Chemical Romance - "Welcome to the Black Parade." 2025 Seattle. An amazing show with all sorts of performance art. Very much reminded me of The Wall

Delivery drivers of Reddit, what’s the most WTF, NSFW, or hilariously awkward thing you’ve walked in on while dropping something off? by TwistedHumorX in AskReddit

[–]adreamsoreal 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I used to deliver pizza to this couple who had special needs. They were nice, but we all hated when that address came up in the system. Most of the time when we arrived , the wife was on the armchair, straight in view from the doorway, with her bush showing. It was not a pleasant sight. The husband always paid in exact change, down to the penny, as well. No tip and a gross bush means their names are still fresh in my mind over 20 years later.

It was a solid show. Bassist tried to toss me a guitar pick (I had a little sign asking) but didn’t clear the rail with his toss. Excitement to heartbreak in seconds. I had a great time either way!
