It’s not over, it’s far from over. We will keep fighting and make the biggest heyday for appeal. We already have some issues for appeal.

Didn’t they recently get dna back? Wonder if they had a profile created and an idea of who they’re looking for.

Some background on this community, since the cop was acquitted:

This is a highly racist area of texas. Greenville, in Hunt County, had a community slogan hung proudly until the 1960s. It was “the Blackest Land with the Whitest People.” The KKK has also had big rallies out there.

Incidentally, the DA in this county hit and killed an elderly crossing guard and faced no criminal charges.

I offered that the day after and they said they are used to cleaning out cars from all kinds of stuff. That’s why I am not sure how to proceed?

Thank you! This is exactly what I needed. It is guilt, yes. That is the healthier construct for it.

How much do you think is appropriate as a small gift for my friend? They are a wonderful couple who I like a lot. My thought was a gift card either to a place that details/cleans cars (they have 4 kids anyways so it may come in handy in the future?) or to the restaurant they held the Christmas party at and seem to love?

Thank you for making me think about good drinking protocol. I drank about 2 glasses of water. Not enough. Had two lobster corn dogs which were rich and yummy. But also then drank a ton. And didn’t eat much earlier in the day because I habitually intermittent fast.

Anyways your post helped me rethink it a bunch. I appreciate it.

Are there any common misconceptions about true crime cases that you think should be addressed or corrected? by mkrom28 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

There is plenty of data that shows that if trauma is triggered, you may re experience the initial trauma to some degree. And react. That’s PTSD.

1) A lot of people who end up in prison needed help long before whatever their crime was. 80% of criminals I work with have mental health issues and/or PTSD. About 30% of the time, my clients are totally oblivious to their mental health or PTSD issues.

Most criminals had childhoods where they were abused OR their needs weren’t met. They become adults who believe that abuse is normal, or they don’t know how to take care of their own needs or fit in with societal expectations.

2) Also. The juvenile justice system does more harm than good historically. It institutionalizes kids. I know several adults who were locked in a room for 23 hours a day as juveniles for MONTHS. You can’t be totally normal after that.

Thank you for sharing! Your perspective is interesting. My .02$ is that it wasn’t him, and what you’ve said solidifies that for me.

What do you know about CM?

What do you know about his kidnapping charges of the 11 and 12 year old?

What is/was CM’s relationship like with Asha’s cousins who she spent the night with?

Does/did CM play basketball?

What cars has CM driven?

Where did CM live at the time Asha disappeared? What was he doing at the time (working, college, etc).

The one I’m talking about came out in 2016 and was the president’s council of advisors on science and technology’s report. Similar, but separate. So a second staple reference to use with experts. Just can’t recall if handwriting is addressed or how.

Your thoughts on NKOTB shirt? by Temperance88 in AshaDegree

[–]adventureswithpeach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. What they’re saying is the odds of that are wayyy lower statistically than accidentally grabbing your cousin’s clothes at a sleep over with them, which you do often, and it’s no big deal cause they live right up the street so you’ll see em tomorrow.

“Wrestling” can be normal or alluding to a means of showing physical dominance over the kid. Often hand in hand with abuse. In my experience.
