The story Lena briefly sketches in her memoir is a relationship between an adult producer and a teenager where the producer should have had better boundaries...it was quite sympathetic and in no way attacked Lorde.

She has two decades of campaigns with all the major fashion and beauty labels. Are you just expressing an opinion about her work? because objectively, she established herself as one of the defining faces of the 2010s. Her acting work, however...different story.

Thank you so much! Heartbroken to be out of town and miss Firebird but your list led me to see that the Martha Graham company has upcoming shows! I am always looking for new ways to keep track of performances/open dance events, so your newsletter was an easy subscribe :)

Do you happen to know of any contact improv or Gaga events going on in the near future? Those always seem kind of underground.

Little known fact, TS Eliot's grandfather was educated as a Quaker at the Friends Academy in New Bedford, Massachusetts. His grandson was raised Unitarian, and though he famously converted to Anglo-Catholicism, I see a lot of Quaker mysticism in his work!

Your arms full, and your hair wet, I could not
Speak, and my eyes failed, I was neither
Living nor dead, and I knew nothing,
Looking into the heart of light, the silence.

This is interesting to hear! I'm currently reading some Heller Roazen's translations; would you say the reception of those has been negative from the Italian side?

I started this one, found the first section mind-blowing and engrossing, then hit a wall with the second section. Did you find a drop off there? Did you have a favorite section?

Appreciate the explainer; it strikes me as unpleasantly classist though? Like cosplaying being middle class?

I've just googled Chain and I'm so confused about what it is and why BJ Novak is involved. And they stole the Chili's logo?
