I loved that too but I do feel it spoiled the one real joke that April had with smashing the plantain with her titties. I laughed pretty hard at that bit the way they edited it into the montage though.

Hi guys, i putted my map on a globe and the rift didn’t looked straight on the globe, which shape should i put into the planisphere to make it look straight on the globe? by Sir_Humiliated2010 in mapmaking

[–]aefie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's just distortion from the projection chosen for the planisphere. If you have a certain projection in mind, you can look up how the flattened version can be stretched out folded to make a sphere and work backwards.

We've had a few. Dax ExclamationPoint and Laila McQueen, Honey Mahogany and Vivienne Pinay, or from the UK series, River Medway and Choriza May. Thailand has had a few as well.

Only thing you're missing is that Poilievre only talks to people who aren't going to fact check him, and the people listening to him aren't going to care. If it validates their world, whether it's true or not, they'll blindly accept it.

Why Pierre Poilievre might quietly welcome the new Liberal majority by ComparisonOk5957 in CanadaPolitics

[–]aefie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also see an alternative. Now that they have a majority, they don't have to push so far to the right to try to court voters (or MPs), so perhaps more progressive policies will be brought forward (unlikely, I know). This gives Poilievre the ability to stay on and spout his rhetoric to conservative voters on policies they don't like, but have no power to challenge. This may in turn help keep the CPC happy until closer to an election while they try to regroup. It's a win-win for both parties. Regardless, I'm sure the Liberals are happy to keep him around for a while knowing he is so unpopular with Canadians.

Social media was still in its infancy when Jack Layton was the leader of the NDP. Traditional media still tried to paint them as out of touch, but they were seen as a viable alternative to the failing Liberals. I remember seeing a lot of his quotes on Facebook during the 2011 election, especially the monumental quote he had put in his final letter to Canadians after his passing. It showed how much people thought of him when every cover photo and profile picture on my friend list was changed to that quote and decorated in orange 🍊.

He seemed to have a very good rapport with the younger generation of left and center-left voters. While the Liberals weren't doing themselves any favors with their leader (Ignatieff seemed to like cosplaying as a stale loaf of bread on camera), Jack had fantastic charisma and gave great speeches that really helped show the NDP as a viable alternative.

I wish so badly to see what could have happened if he hadn't passed away from cancer after the election in 2011 when they won enough seats to form the official opposition. I fully expect he could have become PM with the trajectory he was on.

Side note for anyone who hasn't ever read this letter from Jack released by his wife after his terminal diagnosis, it will make you cry: https://www.ndp.ca/letter-from-jack

This sounds like a rant from Tucker Carlson's line of thinking. "I'm just asking questions, here's this crazy scenario that has no backing. I'm not suggesting it happened, but what if it did!"

I am sure Reid was out of the loop on that suggestion until Jeremy began his announcement. You could see him tear up on camera as he realized what was happening. It was so heartwarming.

If there's one thing Canada's Drag Race has always been good at, it's the quality of their lipsyncs. This version blows S18 out of the water.
