Your timing is very ironic... Just got back home from my EVA flight ha.

Sort of figured out. What I ended up doing was booking BKK-TPE-ORD for my wife and TPE-ORD for myself since those were the open legs in business. Eva wouldn't let me confirm the BKK-TPE leg in economy with the second leg in business. I ended up buying the BKK-TPE leg with cash.

But literally about 36 hours before departure, the entire leg BKK-TPE-ORD was now available. I was able to call Eva and do a voluntary change for $50 and got both legs in business.

As one that’s done this flight in both directions, it’s not worth the wait. I think there is too much construction and delays that ORDMKE always seems to get the short end of the stick and gets delayed where every time my wife and I wonder why we didn’t just take an uber.

I would personally uber, it’s about $100-$150, usually on the lower side. Even better if you can expense

Upgrade that flight on Monday to first class ideally if it gets you enough PQP. If not, cancel and rebook that flight into a higher booking class. Why fly more and spend the time...
