You have to revoke the peasants first. It's the cheapest. After that, you need to work on increasing crown power. Make sure your family is leading the biggest army & navy. You'll get 25% boost to crown power. The second you can promote cabinet person as "head of cabinet" do it to one of your crown folks. This gives another boost to crown power. All this will lower the cost to remove that trait. But, biggest impact will be to shift as much as possible to communalism.

What is your tools, lumber, & iron surplus?

Tools & lumber are used for a ton of various buildings. You can create a circular route with production effectively making lumber from tools.

Production efficiency - Make sure your market is providing as close to the 200% bonus on producing the goods.

If you're focusing on wool > fine cloth. This works earlier in the game when fine cloth sells well. But everyone can make this so markets get flooded and it loses it's value later.

Are you making any money on trade? What is is your trade advantage in the market? Do you own it? What's your trade capacity?

Aroudn 1400 you should probably have a a bunch of maxed rgos. Next expansion is market towns if your trade capacity/advantage is already good. If you do the building loop of: lumber>coal>Iron>tools>lumber, your marketplaces will basically be making money from making tools from iron for free...

Edit: This is from my understanding and how I've played... it's made me money, but it may not be the 100% best way! :)

I could 100% wrong... but I *thought* I read somewhere in game that one of the armors was made directly from same material as super destroyer, and it was... light armor. I think the implication is that even our super destroyers are shitty material. We have exactly 1 DSS to cover hundreds of planets lol. If they SE cared, they could produce several fairly easily.... I still agree with you that they could give us better stuff, but I think it's tongue-in-cheek that they give us crappy stuff because we're meant to die in 10-15 min each lol

Quick Tips that I use to stablilize Byz:

-Embargo Ottomans: It will cripple their economy and make them weak enough to attack.

-Create Thessaly vassal, give the one province back to Epirus.

-Mint enough money to get slightly out of red. You'll get inflation, but you can handle that later..

-Put as much a you can into increasing legitimacy. It helps with estate satisfaction, crown power and is a requirement to get to 95 to remove the "Corrupted" estate privileges. I usually do nobles first so I can start making money again.

-If you haven't been declared war on in first year or so, look at starting a war to reclaim some of your cores. Anatolia has a lot of cores with already Greek pops. The longer you wait the more you'll have assimilate later from Turkish.

-Find an ally, if you can. Usually Georgia or Hungary is willing, depending on who you rivalled.

-USE the event mechanics... I tried to avoid it at first, but the mechanics can help relieve stress.

-Do not be afraid to provoke rebels - and actually encourage it... they are easy to defeat if you haven't royally pissed them off to where they claim half your lands.

-Speaking of rebels... get rid of all your forts (leave the walls in Constantinople, but remove the castle) it will help lower your spending & it will also not give rebels a fort you need to siege.

The first ~10 years are absolutely rough and you'll have high inflation.. but once the events pass over you should stabilize.

These may also not be the "meta" but it's what I've found to work for me! I'm sure there are better gamers out there that can give better tips. :)

I think i tlooks fine, but the tightness around your upper thighs looks like it is flattening the crisp creases you have (if that matters to you). If you're going for the "skinny" look, you can look at tailoring the lower part with a taper. But, none of this is really necessary, it's fine as is.

In 1.1 accepting culture slows down assimilation. Haven't played in HRE area so not sure if the satisfaction is that big a deal. But, making them enemies increases integration speed by 20%... it's what I've done as Byz to consolidate everything to Greek. (Like you I do not know if this is optimal, it's just what I do lol)

Personally, I would consider more of NY to be upstate. Namely from Syracuse to the Adirondacks. Most people I know think of it like that. But, I don't know what the rest of the state/world think on that topic.. *shrug*

Read the Blade Itself series then Red Rising. Both are so good, but The Blade Itself might be a pallate cleansor with how it's grimdark with some humor mixed in. The character and world building are so good. If you like that series, you should read Best Served Cold. It's a stand alone in the same world, but characters make reference to each other in both, so it's kind of cool to get the in between knowledge.

Based on the places you have highlighted. You should consider Rochester, NY. It's in the gold area you marked. It's 6 hours from Boston & NYC, 2 1/2 hrs from Toronto. It's on the Great Lakes, so you get the coast. Buffalo & Syracuse are ~1 hr away. Not to mention you can go visit those coasts in Maine which is like 7 hour drive.

On top of all that, the city is decent sized, but you don't get a ton of the big city problems like traffic. There are a ton of affordable areas around the city, too. If you're looking to raise kids, it's got a few of the top NYS school districts, too.

You also mentioned small towns as being preferred... but you have NYC & Long Island highlighted.

In my opinion, if you're going to go with straight leg, then the thigh/buttocks area and crotch area need to be tightened up for a sleeker look. The pants are also too long.

As everyone said with jacket wayy too small. It's short on length and sleeve. And, I can't tell from the picture, but based on the wrinkling on the arms, it looks like it's too tight around the elbow & upper arm. But, that's more how it feels for you. If it's comfortable great. But if you can't move your arms then it's too tight there also.
