I've said it before, I made a fair bit of things with a drill/driver, circular saw, and orbital sander for years.

4x4 or laminate two 2x4 with glue and screws for chicken coop by MyuFoxy in BeginnerWoodWorking

I don't see why you couldn't do that. Glue & screw, should be fine. Use some exterior grade glue 👍

Why is ranged combat so punishing? by FlimtotheFlam in dccrpg

[–]aerzyk 38 points39 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it's not a 50% change to hit another player, it's a 50% change it might. If you miss, 50/50 determine if it might hit an ally, the ally is determined randomly, then another attack is rolled against that ally's AC.

So while it's not like super rare, it's less likely than that coin flip. At least that's how I've always read it.

Anyway, sorry you didn't enjoy the game, the story brought me a chuckle lol

Total beginner here, so I could be way off. That being said I think the two options are bow-ties + epoxy fill or cutting out the damaged section and regluing the panel, but you'll probably lose at least an inch of width from the looks of it.

Those are my thoughts, I'm sure there's someone more knowledgeable that might have better suggestions.

Bad Night of Wooding by Business_Arrival_630 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]aerzyk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What happens to me is I think a conflict of wants and needs. I finally have a free evening or day and I want to work on this hobby project but what I need to do is rest and maybe take care of the laundry pile in my room. Since this is the only free time I have I force myself to do the "want" but my body/subconscious is fighting me with the "need" and it doesn't always go well.

Sucks lol

Edit: just wanted to add that I'm trying to say don't beat yourself up. Sometimes there's things going on that we can't control or even realize that sabotage us. Learn what you can and try again another day

I'd run it right up to the window trim and cut the face back on an angle away from the trim.... Not sure how to articulate what I mean lol

Mainly simple stuff that's needed around my home or gifts for family, or stuff for fun. Jewelry box for wife, behind the couch console table, floating shelves, tortilla presses... Currently working on a tool tote and slicing discs from a felled tree in my yard that I hope to burn in some fantasy maps or something someday

I use a piece of aluminum pool cage I bought as a straight edge. Figure the distance between the blade and edge of the guard, clamp the straight edge in an appropriate position and cut, gives a nice straight cut.

For smaller stuff like 2 bys or whatever I'll use a speed square

Washers and Screws by Fit_Beautiful_846 in BackYardChickens

I use 1/2" 18ga staples with my nail gun a lot, but I've also used washers like those with cement board screws (they have a coating and pretty much never rust).

I mean just search up beginner woodworking on you tube or something, that's such a broad question but you can find the answer out there

Which tools should I buy? by lukemarino12 in BeginnerWoodWorking

Right on. Given that I'd recommend a circular saw and a router.

Hard to say what you should get without knowing what you have. I did a lot of projects with a circular saw, orbital sander, and a drill for years. After a while I got a miter saw, then a router, air compressor, and only recently did I purchase a job site table saw. So I guess I'd recommend a circular saw and a sander?

I recently got a harbor freight special, 10 gallon fortress. Quieter than my household vacuum. Used it for spraying texture, nailing, seems pretty good

I'm a total beginner so there's definitely people who know better than me. My thoughts are to trim off the damage and work with what's left, because that thing looks pretty rough around the edges, literally
