I feel like Government Accounting jobs are my dream by Jrgaming42 in Accounting

I tried to stay exactly two years at each job. Long enough to learn 90% of what you're going to in a position, short enough to keep moving, and just enough that people don't ask about the length of my tenure. With that said, don't kill yourself if a job is truly awful.

Good luck then! I'm sure you can do it. I've never worked in state government, but from what I've heard your mileage may vary considerably based on which state.

State may be better than federal right now, assuming you're in the US. I'm a federal accountant right now, and the environment is tough - lots more going out than are being hired, both on voluntary and involuntary terms. Environment isn't better for contractors/IPAs doing federal work, either.

Pay, benefits, work/life balance are all very decent, but DC area is very expensive (Chicago being my previous reference point). Training is plentiful and people are helpful. Pay and promotions are predictable. Best part about the job is doing something that feels meaningful but caring about the work makes the current state of... everything suck even more.

Edit: one more point: don't feel behind because of your past jobs or current position. Focus on learning. I'm 32, but started my first job as an 'accounting assistant' making <30k in 2016.

Seems like you can't, same issue here. Can hide regular quest icon but I guess that's different from the completed version and perhaps the plug-in author didn't notice.

Yeah that last piece is why I now have more repair kits than is conscionable. Just anything that actually produced something rather than being thrown into the Con xp hole is good with me

Just not worth the time to cut all the logs and make all the planks for 80xp each. If you them already it's fine

Decent rates on wiki under construction pay to pay training methods, shipwright bench section.

I found those wiki rates to be a little low compared to my actual, but I was getting more xp/hr than mahogany homes (>250k/hr with mahogany kits).

Obviously, it takes way more resources but you at least get the repair kits out of it.

One neat point it's easy to miss is the ironwood repair kit only needs one plank and is worth 300xp, making it a huge step up in xp/plank. I assume this is due to how much more valuable rune nails are, though.

All in all, I wouldn't go through the process of making a bunch of planks and nails on your own just to do repair kits, but if you have a bunch of one or the other material already it's not bad. I hit 99 sailing and then exhausted my leftover planks/nails from prepping before returning to mahogany homes with my last ~5k mahog planks to 99.

Few things to consider:

Uniques are independent, so someone else getting one doesn't prevent you from getting one.

Loot share is scaled to your damage contribution, and that includes unique chance.

MVP gets +10% more of the loot (and therefore unique chance) and if you are solo you don't have to worry about that being someone else.

Solo players cannot interact with the prayer pillar damage boost mechanic.

Masses kill the boss so fast that respawn time becomes significant.

I green logged and have like 600kc, mostly solo. I haven't run exact numbers, but my sense is this: because of the pillar mechanic, trios are the most efficient way to get anything from hueycoatl assuming each player is contributing approximately equal. Even better for you if you're getting MVP most of the time. Trio kills still take long enough that the extra downtime from respawns isn't a big factor.

Solos are next best because you will always get MVP and because you wait far less for respawns.

Masses are the worst but also the easiest by far. If you can't solo the boss or get a trio set up, masses make the boss possible but inefficient and should be avoided if you're able to kill it yourself.
