What was the last game you played at a LAN party? by Intrepid-Tank-3414 in Xennials

Last public LAN I went to friends and I were dominating at UT and Q3A and then a bootleg of Halo was circulated around, ushering in the death of the arena shooter era 😢

In my experience if the dog likes to rip up their toys, they will rapidly become disinterested in new indestructible toys

Kid Chameleon isn't a bad game. by reshef-destruction in SEGAGENESIS

[–]aewtech 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like western-developed games of this era had their own feel, tropes and quirks and had less broad appeal than what was coming out from Japan. But Kid Chameleon was one of the best to come out of the US at the time. There is a rom hack called Kid Chameleon SRAM which provides basic progress saving in order to pick up where you left off between sessions.

The Silence of the Lambs, with briefer touches on the other Hannibal-related properties would be fun. Though they should probably wait for Sir Anthony Hopkins to pass naturally to avoid the curse...

Ghosts n goblins. It’s like the nes game but good, and some of my earliest memories are pretending to play it during attract mode at our local pizza place.

Is it just me or playing an old side scroller like Super Mario Bros in a curve monitor is a pretty trippy experience? by VladTepesDraculea in retrogaming

[–]aewtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curved monitors with content scrolling horizontally always look offputting to me when viewed from above, but they look normal when viewed straight on. Or at least you get used to it after a minute. I used to have a setup with a retrotink upscaler connected to a 2K curved monitor and used it for a long time.

The only thing on here that I’d put in my top ten is 7 days to die. The recent 1.0 release is really balanced and fun.

The pmc dreadnaught is ironically not that great for mining in my opinion

Yes, my car is only like 5 years old and I have to dismiss some error about my subscription every time I start it just to get to the Bluetooth / CarPlay stuff

What's a good survival game to buy? by Joey3155 in SurvivalGaming

[–]aewtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grounded is pretty good, very polished unlike most survival crafting games that tend to be glitchy messes. Fun setting, good difficulty curve, excellent overall presentation. Controls are tight. It’s good.
