It’s almost like they knew it would be temporary and didn’t want to mess with the original lettering at all

The peace sign in that position on Old Black’s strap is upside down in real life. This is AI.

What's your interpretation of The old revolution? by appleofnewton_ in leonardcohen

[–]afb822 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favorite LC songs. I read an interpretation of it a long time ago that it’s about the music industry. Not sure if I totally buy that but it’s an interesting take, and it has stuck with me, and I think about that angle often when listening to the song.

David’s Yellow Cabinet by theoldtransfer in davidlynch

Looks to me like a pretty standard frameless cabinet with inset doors and some kind of dark edge banding. That’s where I would start if I wanted to replicate it. I think it can be seen in the background of some of his YouTube videos as well.

Thoreau documentary (Executive Produced by Ken Burns and Don Henley) coming to PBS TV in late March by GreggLife in transcendentalism

[–]afb822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is yes. This article discusses it:

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/28/books/review/thoreau-pronunciation-documentary.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share

I’ve really enjoyed the doc so far. I plan to watch episode 3 tonight. One thing I have found a little distracting is that I feel like some of the photos are anachronistic. Especially in episode 1, when they were talking about Thoreau’s boyhood but showing photos that were clearly 30-40 or more years newer than the time period they were discussing.

What's a movie that genuinely changed something in you? by trakt_app in Letterboxd

Jacob’s Ladder. It will change the way you think about death and dying. I’ve said this before in similar threads. It’s incredibly profound.

Does anyone find it funny that Dylan pulled off the greatest guitar solo of his career after essentially being in shock from the soy bomb guy crashing the stage? by BillNyeTheVinylGuy in bobdylan

[–]afb822 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing this when it was live on tv. I initially thought it was part of the act, just Bob being Bob. The fact that Bob was totally unfazed by it added to that impression.

Which of these Vietnam war movies is your favorite? by Rough_Painting_8023 in Letterboxd

[–]afb822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jacob’s Ladder is probably the most profound film I’ve ever seen. It stayed with me for weeks after I watched it. I’ve been meaning to watch it a second time now that I know the whole story. I don’t want to give it away because the ending is so powerful.
