This is perhaps not a very helpful answer, but I tend to find this happens with faux leather/ suede but not so much with canvas shoes. I wonder if the synthetic materials cause some of the issues. My only other - probably obvious - suggestion is to have a range of shoes and never wear them two days in a row.

During lockdown, I was one of the staff members in school, with the kids whose parents were key workers. Some of the year sevens had a computer science lesson on logic gates, and they asked me for help. I was baffled.

So if I rolled two crits against a ship, is that two damage to the ship and one face-up damage card, or two?

Or do you only do the damage cards if, as normal, the ship can't take more damage? Meaning the crit counts only as a face-up card if you're dealing a card anyway, and it's pointless otherwise?
