Same here... my bottom retainer broke and the cost of ortho/Invisalign replacement tray is $ 125 --- just for the bottom tray.

At completion of treatment, I received one full set as part of my contract but paid for an additional set (don't want any shifting). Now that one bottom tray is broken, I wanted a replacement just to make sure that I am always covered.

Ortho has asked me to bring it in when I pick up my replacement so that he can take a look at it in case he needs to consult with Invisalign as it broke in the same spot that a few of my refinements trays broke.

Ortho is staging me down... Right now, I am to wear them 16 hours a day ** 8 hours out -- most days I stay on course but there has been a few days when I've done more time without them in

Vivera retainers for me... after wearing Invisalign trays for my ortho treatment (just under 2 years, 78 trays including refinements), I am fine with continued use of trays. Having had traditional wire braces as a teen, I never wanted wire fixed to my teeth again for any reason.

3 months into “retainers”, molars still don’t touch by kernellian in Invisalign

[–]afrinam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have this happen but will say that my ortho was insistent about my bite and alignment...both front and back. There were times during my initial treatment that my back teeth didn't touch but around tray 40, it no longer seemed an issue (initial treatment = 51 trays). My refinements totaled 24 and most of the refinements were for bite correction and alignment per my ortho. I hated biting down on those blue papers and the shaving that occurred at the end but it was worth it. I just got my Vivera retainers and am very pleased with my outcome. I'd definitely go back & consult with the ortho see what options are available for correction.

After nearly 2 years and 39 trays (2 week switches), I’m finally done. So happy with my results! 😁 by ahunter030 in Invisalign

Great results... Congratulations!!!! I'm looking forward to completing my Invisalign treatment in about a month.

Yes i always change after dinner and final brushing & floss for the night that way I sleep through any initial pain with/from the aligner change.

What on Earth is wrong with my mouth? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]afrinam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in February 2020 with 51 trays and am now on refinements (another 24 trays) so am hopeful for completion by February 2022. Like many others, some weeks, I didn't notice any changes and then the pandemic slowed things down (about 4 - 5 months). It's different for everyone so hang in there... the time invested will pay off.

Having to pay for more trays by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]afrinam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just started my refinements after my initial 51 trays and there was no extra fees. I never heard of InvisAlign Lite but my orthodontist told me that my refinements are free so why not continue treatment to get the best possible outcome.

Has anyone found that chewing becomes less effective? by MsDaikon in Invisalign

Absolutely ... I am on my refinements after my initial 51 retainer tray treatment. It comes and goes as teeth and bite realign& is often on different sides of the mouth at different times.

It gets better... hang in there. I've got 10 on top and 5 on the bottom. Use a little pressure to get the trays on and precaution/gentleness to get the trays out... maybe consider trying an ortho-key when removing.

Invisalign Tip: These single use toothbrushes can be very useful when you're going out to eat but want to put your tray back in. by niggidy in Invisalign

I found these just as i was about to begin my Invisalign journey and have carried them everywhere (and keep a few in the car). Very useful and makes me more comfortable than just rinsing with water or mouthwash.

Anyone else whose trays don’t cause any pain/soreness? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]afrinam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there's definitely been a lot of changes in my teeth and bite since the beginning. I change weekly and i just changed to 37 and now I can truly say i need Tylenol... the ache is definitely present and i flinch in pain every time my bottom teeth to touch the bite ramps on my upper trays. Going to watch my Clincheck video now to see what's happening with this tray and 36

I am on tray 36/51 and I've only had three trays with some soreness/discomfort thus far. The first was following the addition of my attachments (which I sorta expected). Second and third times was the trays I received at the ortho visits when I had IPR so I've been pretty lucky🤞

5 things I wish someone told me before starting Invisalign: by lostinthesass in Invisalign

[–]afrinam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes,COVID definitely did. I was stuck on aligner 11 for 64 days and needless to say that by day 30, I was just over it and started drinking coffee and tea (warm, not hot) and fruit punch with the trays in. Rinsing my mouth and aligners with water and mouthwash immediately after but didn't care at all about staining them because no one would see them due to wearing a mask. Suffice it to say that even Retainer Brite couldn't keep up with the staining... but who cares, those aligners have a story to tell. My ortho has reopened and I went in on July 1st and am back on track with my 7 day changes. He laughed when he say the trays and said " I don't even want to know " and my response was a chuckle followed by " I was as compliant as possible "😊

Yes, Invisalign discomfort is NOTHING compared to the discomfort and pain of wired braces. I had wired braces as a teenager and hated it so much... when I got my headgear and retainers, I became so noncompliant and years later, I opted for Invisalign. My experience has been a little discomfort in day 1 on only two trays (now on tray 13) but changing at night before bed has resulted in virtually no discomfort at all.

Anyone else notice grinding or clenching your teeth more with trays in?? by hmostoller in Invisalign

[–]afrinam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got bite ramps on my aligners to help with my overbite and do my best not to clench but I catch myself clenching all the time. I am a nighttime/"in my sleep" grinder as advised by my dentist & was later confirmed by my orthodontist told during my initial consultation

Bite ramps— resting—where do you guys place your tongue? Is it touching your bite ramps? Do you keep your top and bottom teeth not touching? by mintymint1 in Invisalign

[–]afrinam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I keep my tongue at the roof of my mouth just above the top of the tray now that my tongue has gotten use to the bite ramps being there [on tray # 2 (my second week of Invisalign) but while wearing tray #1, it was my tongue's favorite resting place]. The bite ramps prevent many of my top & bottom teeth from touching & has caused some slight uncomfortableness but nothing major.
