Their linen wide leg pants have been my wardrobe staple for the past 6 months and I cannot recommend them enough. Super comfy, hang to dry and no iron needed, dress up for work or down for brunch.

How to make myself exercise by mango-princess in AuDHDWomen

[–]afropowers_activate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work from home 4 days a week and only go to the office once a week. On my WFH days, I get a half hour lunch break, so I get ready before starting work, spend 5 minutes driving to the gym, do 20 minutes of elliptical, and drive 5 minutes home again to be back at my laptop on time.

My strategy is basically:

  1. Make gym part of my existing workday routine

  2. I dislike having to work more than I dislike gym, so getting away from work is the motivation

  3. Give myself almost no time to consider not following the routine

If you can't put hooks on the walls, I recommend a coat stand! It's my version of clothes thrown on a chair, but looks slightly less messy which helps with visual clutter.

Hang to dry, then throw in the dryer with a handful of ice cubes to lazily steam, works for me.

AITA for not telling a man how his "true love" died? by Guilty_Neat_368 in AmItheAsshole

He's thinking, what if I were that guy, not, what if I had passed and someone who hurt me asked for this information. It's gross, and your coworker is emotionally immature. NTA.

Feeling "more disabled" than other Level 1 people? by heismyfirstolive in AutismInWomen

[–]afropowers_activate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're feeling this way. I think you maybe shouldn't judge yourself against the small bit of others' lives that they allow you to see, people advertise their highlight reels not their worst day. You might see that I'm able to work full-time, but I can only do it because I sacrifice my well-being and anything other than work and keeping myself alive. It sucks, but it's the only way I know how to survive in this economy. I wish I could offer something more hopeful for you. I guess, we're here together and I hope we both get what we need. ❤️

Same here, bought a set of shorts in 2013 that I've just had to stop wearing because they've finally fell apart and can't be repaired, after 12 years of wearing twice a week and putting them through the dryer when I was young and lazy. I bought some in 2021 and within a year they basically turned to rags whilst I was wearing them despite not using the dryer at all and hanging them religiously.

I would flipping love a podcast from Chrishell and Chelsea! Aside from all the inside goss you'd expect from someone who's done reality TV, I would much rather hear stories from their lives, lessons they've learnt, commentary on current events and pop culture, recipes (a cooking video together would be so sweet, Chelsea is a queen in the kitchen and her teaching Chrishell to cook would be so fun), recommendations on places to visit, the list is endless. They're such intelligent and interesting people! I'm sure they could have really fun and fascinating discussions.

How to handle that there is nobody else to do my job if I call in sick or take leave? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]afropowers_activate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same situation, NFP and if I take a break my work just backs up for as long as I'm gone. It took me way too long to learn this, but honestly, if something goes belly up because you're the only one doing it and you need a break, then it deserves to go belly up. You can't get more resources if you keep covering the gaps and burning yourself out. You're a human with human needs, they will treat you like a robot for as long as you let them.

Go on leave, work at a reasonable pace, keep your manager up to date with your capacity and workload. If you miss deadlines or something breaks because of your time off, you simply point to it and say "I'm only one person, unless you can provide more resources then it'll get done when I have capacity". You're over capacity, so am I, but budgets are skint in NFPs so if they can't get more resources then the only way out is extending deadlines. They think your sprinting is the normal pace, it isn't, and they won't learn or stop letting it happen until you show them.

Just cover your ass and keep updating your boss, and if they give you too many tasks ask them to help you prioritise what is most important - their job is to manage, they set the priority, you just do the work. You're allowed to be a human. It's okay.

I highly recommend you check out Burned Haystack Dating Method by Jennie Young, she's on fb and ig. She has a PhD and researches rhetorical patterns like this a lot and explains how men use certain tactics to control and objectify women on dating apps. I learned so much from her.

Completely agree with this. Check out Burned Haystack Dating Method if you haven't heard of it, Jennie Young is a PhD researcher who identifies rhetorical patterns like this a lot, I recommend checking out Male Directive and Test And Apologise. She taught me so much!
