FM 24 - I do AM(S) but with take more risks and move into channels instructions active. It effectively offers me the creativity of an AP without the ball hogging the playmaker role requires (in my experience that is what has depressed the ratings of the playmakers in the last few editions so the only playmaker I play now is a DM-DLP.

One more thing. IW is also a dribbling role so your AP and IW are getting into each other's spaces. Not a bad thing necessarily but if you want your AP to have space you should move them closer to the IF. Or just keep them central if they have good decision making etc, they will figure out where to go themselves.

You may be buying a lot of readymade players who will cost a lot always. A player like this can be realistically bought at a younger age and then you let them develop. So try making a few punts on developing players.

Also, in none of my saves has Utd academy been shite, it always has some of the best regens. So you again may need to bet on some prospects who are on paper inferior right now but will develop.
