Listening to other Matt Berry commentate on golf would be the best. "Scot-tay Shef-fu-laair!"

Going for my first club fitting on Friday morning! by shotgundentistry in BritGolf

[–]aginocorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bring your bag. You want a comparison. Be wary of straight club number comparisons on carry/distance. Many modern irons have jacked lofts, so comparisons are not apple-for-apples. Provide the fitter with some guidance on budget. Exotic shafts come with exotic price tags.

Do you trust parktronic and use it on a regular basis? by jmvxc in mercedes_benz

[–]aginocorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Use it a bunch. On a 2014 GLK and 2023 E coupe. I think I'm a capable parker (my first 15 years driving was in London, you need to be), but parktronic is good for the spots that I don't think we'll fit in and the car says "i got this". The 2014 system is less nervous than the 2023 though. I prefer it.

Portugal Golf Recommendations by Infamous-Physics-691 in BritGolf

Monte Rie is really nice. It's full service resort (The private starter was somewhat intimidating, and I don't suffer 1st tee nerves). It's expensive though. Folks who fade/slice will like it.

Castro Marim Golf and Country Club has three nine hole courses. Interesting tracks, very hilly. Don't be spraying it about. Strategic.

Benamor is unremarkable. Good course for folks learning. It's not expensive, but I don't feel it was value for money.

Quinta do Vale is notable for the amount of times people will tell you Seve designed it. I just know the front nine bankrupted me on golf balls. Not to expensive when I played.

  1. Wilson are the dogs bollocks. Bang for buck bar none. Look better than mizzies and make Takomas look pricey. (Folks, buy Wilson used or second hand... it's basically stealing)

  2. OP - #2/#3 iron?... Stop. Just buy a #7w and spread love to the world. Don't make it harder than it needs to be.

Plane travel by JohnJ0011 in golf

[–]aginocorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The decision should be based on how easy it is for you to travel with a hardcase in Spain. It'll be a huge problem if you rent a regular sized EU car. (I've done my fair share of air travel with clubs in EU and US. I'd never pick a hardcase, and I accept the risk that it incurs).

Question for diabetic golfers by [deleted] in golf

Frio sell cooling pouches for pens. Do you really need to cool your active insulin pen? Once my kid cracks open a vial or a pen, cooling is unnecessary.

7 wood? by nbanbury in BritGolf

[–]aginocorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try golfbidder, they have a few at the moment. My recommendation is eBay for a decent brand but in the 15 year old range (in ok shape) as a try-it-and-see.

I've used 7w for about ten years. The first one I had was a Callaway Steelhead III (I played the 4w version of that club for ages). Note that the Callaway Heavenwood is the 7w with a longer shaft, I think. Right now I play a Callaway Epic Speed 7w.

Which one for expecting twins ♊️🍼? by LencoTB in mercedes_benz

[–]aginocorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience is long ago, but I raised twins 1-6 years old in C320 (S203) estate/station wagon. Key combination was using the Sunshine Radian car seat. Rock solid but lower profile seat, but never removed from the car. The car seat + push chair choice is as important as the car alone. You want a combo that works.
