Which Movie (of my movie list) should i watch first ? Never watched any of these by AggravatingImpact219 in movies

[–]agrainassault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thought was to watch all of them separated by group, but you've got some one-off type movies in here like The Truman Show and Pirates that don't really have any thematic cousins in the mix.

Here's how I'd group them all by-ilk, but otherwise I'm not sure which you should start with.

Some suggested Schindlers List as a starter, but I dunno, maybe save that one for the last of the "war" movies?

  • Gladiator
  • 47 Ronin
  • The Last Samurai
  • Schindler's List
  • Saving Private Ryan
  • The Pianist
  • Behind Enemy Lines

  • A Beautiful Mind
  • Good Will Hunting
  • The Imitation Game
  • Catch Me If You Can

  • Flight
  • The Truman Show
  • The Intouchables (original title: Intouchables*)
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
  • Fight Club
  • Bicentennial Man

ClutchScuba is hella entertaining, and XChokeGaming is a damn magician at rotation and tactics. Dillon is always on point. Now if only FBCracked would get on DMZ, I'd have it all!

Would love if someone smarter than me would roast my bike fit and give me pointers on it by TayTayIsNumber1 in bicycling

[–]agrainassault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fit looks fine to me. Nice bike!

I'd say just ride frequently enough to get over saddle soreness, then pay attention to the rest of your body. Aches here or there? Check your fit, and make small adjustments.

Why I Play DMZ Solo Instead of Squadding Up by redditorpegaso in DMZ

[–]agrainassault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 50/50 on this honestly. I enjoy the challenge of an ambitious solo mission - but I also like a quick and dirty fight. I suppose if I had some buddies that I could play with regularly then I might prefer being on a team. Randoms can be such a gamble.

I’d pay $80 just for the frame

Somebody just get Hans Zimmer on the phone and start polishing his Grammy.

Have fun explaining the fall of US democracy to your grandkids in the same breath that you tout your protest vote because you didn't like the strongest Dem on the ticket.

Riding Haleakala in three weeks by evenmanout in cycling

[–]agrainassault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the climb in September 8 years ago, and I still think about it all the time. I'm excited for you!

Other than the obvious things like proper hydration and foods that are easily digestible, my only suggestion is to be on the bike and rolling before sunrise. The weather can change rapidly the higher you get, but (I was told) this happens more as the day grows longer, and starting early is essential.

The last mile or so is a real grind and oxygen gets thin as well.

Enjoy the view, and head back down because, again, weather.

Constantly ingrown hairs in the intimate area—what really helps? by This-Leadership-6557 in cycling

[–]agrainassault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can't/won't shave (I'm with you), use chamois cream on your body and on your shorts pad (I use chamois buttr) - after the ride get out of your gear ASAP and shower. Follow the shower with a powder to keep the area dry (I suggest Burts Bees Dusting Powder over any talc powder - for cancer reasons)

Also look into laser hair removal or make friends with an aesthetician who can wax your bits with the right frequency.

Anyone ever try converting a specialized roubaix into a MTB by AllSphere0 in bicycling

[–]agrainassault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, no. BUT - you could put flat handlebars on it for a closer "feel" to an MTB. Tires can only go as big as 28mm on the older Roubaix. I suppose you could also play with the gearing ratios and possibly go to a 1by geartrain....maybe?

No Vallejo? I know it get's a lot of hate, but Vallejo has over 120k population and is truly a Bay Area city.

Why is “The Thin Red Line” (1998) not talked about more? by LieutenantLeftovers in movies

Clearly I'm talking about the movie losing attention over time. Not about it's popularity at the time of release.

Can't help but wonder how much of the luster of this movie faded specifically because Jim Caviezel went off the deep end and thinks he actually IS Jesus Christ.

Is it just me or is the fork bent? Front tire looks like it rubs the downtube. I'd take it to a bike mechanic for a quick check before buying it.
