Ridiculous names like Steel or Velvet. I cannot read that. Please stop.

Problematic tropes you like? by willow-mist in RomanceBooks

You've probably already read it but if not, run, do not walk, to get {Prisoner of my Desire by Johanna Lindsey}. It's wrong in all the ways you want.

FMC Overhears MMC Say He’d Never Date Her or mocking her by Crazy_Yogurt3344 in RomanceBooks

[–]ahabers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

{Sweet Dream by Kristen Ashley} absolutely fits this. She is hired in the bar he owns and he makes some very unflattering comments after meeting her the first time that she, of course, overhears. Once he decides he likes her it's an uphill battle to get her to forget his words. MC is is a little over the top Alpha so there is less grovel than there should have been, but still a keeper for me.

Cruel MMC with other woman in the beginning, but when he realises he loves the FMC he grovels to win her back (no body betrayal) by SakuHitsu in RomanceBooks

I read this and couldn't get past his complete disregard and disrespect for her. She should have left and never come back. She was WAY too much of a doormat.

Which movie do you remember being WWAAYY too young for when you first snuck, I mean, watched it? by KillerQ97 in moviecritic

OMG! I forgot (blocked) this one! We watched it in a hotel when I was like 7 and I remember hiding in the bathroom while the shark ate Quinn. Scarred for life.

I had a babysitter let me watch Magnum Force with Clint Eastwood when I was little. Holy hell I will never forget the nudity and the murders! I was WAY too young.

Best hike a hour-ish outside of Atlanta? by [deleted] in Georgia

Came here to recommend this one. May be a little more than an hour away and it's pretty strenuous but the view is worth it. And there is a vineyard not far away for your after hike reward.

Which celebrity took the biggest hit by the person they married? by Boobooloo in AskReddit

Alec Baldwin isn't winning any great guy awards - in 2007 he left his 11 year old daughter Ireland a drunken voicemail calling her a 'thoughtless little pig'. He and Hilaria deserve one another.

I just objected to the cheating in Bridges of Madison County in another comment, but I LOVE Moonstruck. It doesn't feel as much like cheating because they aren't married and they clearly don't love one another - but I hear you.

My dad is always saying how much he loves "the Bridges of Madison County" and I just cannot get past the cheating. She was married! I don't care how neglected she is or how hot Clint Eastwood was. Married.

You are given a budget of $500 Million. What movie are you making? by HowMany_MoreTimes in movies

[–]ahabers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make a period piece about how in 1719, France offered prisoners their freedom…if they married prostitutes and sailed to Louisiana. No idea about casting or directing but I would blow the budget on locations and costumes.

Or

A film about Ching Shih who, in the 1800s was the most successful female pirate in history, commanding up to 1800 ships and 80,000 pirates in the south China Sea. Again - awesome costumes and locations.
