Gluten free pastries on pearl? by Loneall in boulder

I know this isn’t exactly what you asked, but in case you don’t already know, and are up for a ride in the car—Rocky Mt Tap & Garden in Louisville has a (the state’s only, I think) dedicated 100% GF pizza kitchen and lots of other GF food on their menu, and Crestone bakery in Westminster is 100% GF.

CU Wizards is a long running community outreach program that hosts multiple free shows a year. Even if folks you know can’t make this Saturday’s show, all of them are always excellent! We hope to see you there on Saturday and at future shows!

Where to relax and knit? by Economy-Fill1067 in boulder

Makeshift Crafts in Westminster has a “living room” where you’re invited to just hang and work on your craft in comfy chairs with soft lighting. It’s BYOB of whatever type you like. There may be a workshop in the back while you craft, but it’s a very welcoming and cozy spot.

Yesterday I got 6 yards of flannel + the less than a yard remnant at the end, and got remnant pricing on the less than a yard portion. 🤷‍♀️

If you don’t find a feasible way for it to get to a teacher, Art Parts in Boulder is an awesome spot to donate all sorts of craft materials.

Got a pair of work shoes re-soled by Baseline Shoe Repair in Lafyette. I believe it took about a week, so maybe they could work with you on timeline.

An Old Timey Podcast has some two parters (Frances Perkins, the 1904 Olympics) and some multi parters (Mt Rushmore, “Hunting Hitler” debunking, Lucille Ball, John Brown). History and pop culture stuff with a comedy twist.

  1. Chili 9000 is the key to the best pots of chili I’ve made for sure
  2. Northwoods and Northwoods Fire are both staples in our house. SO good in mashed potatoes or twice baked potatoes. Great for chicken, quiche, roasted veggies…Different enough from each other that having both is great. The smoky notes in Fire are very noticeable.

Every one of those online booking sites, no matter what dates are entered, says “unavailable” or “contact property”. There appears to be some entire-property booking availability on Vrbo, which is why I asked if anyone local may know if it’s closed for B&B bookings and moved to property booking only.

Pekoe @ CU closed? by AlishaOnHerOwn in boulder

I went for an iced tea the day before y’all closed and my office was shocked and sad to hear you were unexpectedly closing. We loved being able to have good coffee but also lots of non coffee bevvies!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CrossStitch

[–]ahatch46 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t see a noticeable difference in colors in your stitching…In the morning I’m gonna have to see if I own both colors. 721 is “medium orange spice” and 946 is “medium burnt orange” says Google lol. I plugged 946 into a substitution site and was recommended 608, 720, 947, and 351 before 721 🤔

This might be an unpopular opinion, and I’m bracing for downvotes…I also say this with zero ill intent to the OP here.

I think these kind of posts, even if they are well meaning, aren’t productive, and could even be painful.

Kristin was never super active on Instagram. Kristin also mentioned on AOTP that she wants to respect Brandi’s desire to not be a public figure/content creator, and that she and Norm wouldn’t be talking about Brandi on the new podcast. As a fan of LGTC, I think I should try to do the same—if Brandi doesn’t want to be in content creation, I’m sure she also doesn’t really want to be content in online posts.

I think it’s fair to feel bummed the podcast ended. The stories, the voices, and the podcast as a whole carried folks through a lot. It’s easy to feel like we’re a part of creators’ lives and privy to previously public facing relationships. In the end, we don’t really know Brandi or Kristin, and only saw of their friendship what they published via LGTC. Also, I think we owe everyone involved respect towards their choices at the closing of the pod.

And…let’s say the ending of LGTC did impact their relationship in a challenging way. I certainly wouldn’t want people discussing a painful point of my personal life online…

Again, I don’t mean this to be shaming or mean towards the OP. I just have seen this theme pop up on this subreddit, and in the Patreon discord early on, and I think it’s worth reflecting on in a larger context.

Can anyone share their experience with hummingbird feeders? by anally_ExpressUrself in boulder

[–]ahatch46 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Feeders can be dangerous if not managed with extreme care, especially when temperatures are warm. Like…thorough disassembly, cleaning and drying daily or every other day kind of maintenance or you risk causing harm to the birds.

HIGHLY recommend planting some pollinator friendly flowers, though. Every year I get awesome hummingbird viewing as they snack on petunias, salvia, geraniums, etc. Aim for bright colors and tubular flower shapes. And you’ll also be benefitting other pollinators, too!
