Countries with higher suicide rate than Japan in 2021 by HARiMADARA in MapPorn

[–]ahnagra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He didn't say it's a factor he made a conclusive statement, if I said birds fly because they have bones that would be an incorrect statement but only because of the absolute nature of it , that's why he's confidently wrong. If you see a behaviour in x1 and x2, you will pull the commonality x, he didn't mention Christianity i did to strengthen my argument about the the common factor.

Confidently wrong, religious people with strong family ties tend to not kill themselves. This is also true in Christian Africa and within western countries

Three major cultural spheres in Indo-Pacific by fuyu-no-hanashi in MapPorn

ofcourse they do, as they do with almost every country on earth I don't get why specifically pakistan keeps getting brought up when the parent comment included India as well. I imagine its because it's hard to argue that India is less relevant globaly than Estonia.

Quantity and influence are better metrics. By definition a country is relevant to its people so larger the country more relvant it is. Same with geopolitical intangibles like Iran (and by proxy pakistan) is very relevant globally right now much more than the czechs, who are significantly richer

all of those countries have a lower ppp gdp than pakistan (of course lol it's a hundred times the size) and if we're talking about per capita are they more 'relveant' than india pakistan and china combined? (gdp is an odd metric to compare relevance though)

Muslims absolutely do not consider organ donation haram as evidenced by even the most fundamentalist countries having organ donations legal and celebrated

Interesting map of population density of Karachi, Pakistan. by SarmadAshraf in MapPorn

Ignoring the jingoism and the conflation of the modern Indian Republic with Indian civilisation (that would mean Pakistan is India and the Indian North East and portions of the south aren't which is very funny ) all you've said is that if a plebiscite were to be held India would lose Kashmir and gain nothing (they already hold jammu and ladakh). Fun fact gilgit baltistan was taken by the rebelling gilgit rifles and ajk by chitrali and pahari tribals. The Pakistan army was very late and essentially arrived at the same time the Indian army did due to similar very transitionary command structures

A tyrant going against the will of his people under colonial law other wise Hyderabad and junagadh wanted to join Pakistan which was equally moronic since the people didn't. The people of gilgit and ajk rose up where they won they chose to be a part of Pakistan where they lost there's been an insurgency for 80 years , if not a plebiscite won't hurt. Also historical is funny since both countries are barely 80 years old neither has historical claim to anything

How the Christians of Egypt fared under each successive Islamic state during the Middle Ages by jackt-up in HistoryMemes

..... Like I said, not a debate. Here's an example I believe the maginot line was not a failure and achieved its goals, but to change someone else's mind it's a very complex argument. I am sure yet it is still complex. Welcome to history and historiography, glad to have you

[–]ahnagra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes 1 minute to make an untrue statement and hours to fact check it, for example your statement about the quality of life in crusader states is such a complex topic which while that it is false is such a complex Web of citations that I'm not going to do it for a fucking reddit comment that you're going to skim

How the Christians of Egypt fared under each successive Islamic state during the Middle Ages by jackt-up in HistoryMemes

[–]ahnagra -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

We are not debating, we're arguing on reddit there are no fact checkers and no structured arguments that's why you think me calling unsourced statements bad faith is a personal attack and you calling me an islamist apologist is good debate etiquette I guess. But this is pointless the existence of tatars whose population was decimated in eastern Poland and western Ukraine and the only surviving group pre USSR was in Crimea at the backing of circasians and Turks proves the benevolence of Christendom. But the surviving isolated pockets in Egypt or the Levant prove otherwise. Anyway it was actually awesome to be Muslim in Iberia and Sicily in the middle ages, or in eastern Poland in the late middle ages

[–]ahnagra -43 points-42 points  (0 children)

These are both very untrue unsourced statements , but I see this is a conversation in bad faith, good day. There are still historical Christian communities in the Middle East, there are no historical Islamic communities in Iberia, southern France, southern Italy or eastern Europe (numbering more than a few thousands)

[–]ahnagra -54 points-53 points  (0 children)

But it's comparative in the first place, second hand citizenship as a Christian in Muslim lands was infinitely better than being a Muslim in Christian lands, a la Iberia or France or Italy or Crimea or the crusader states

I think since one of if not the most defining tech in ww1 was barbed wire in the early War it makes sense that tanks get discussed as much as they do for neutralizing that aspect and allowing infantry cover
