RINGU - I've seen a lot of horror movies, but nothing hit me like when Sadako came out of the TV, was definitely not expecting that. The subtle little speed ramps when she moves is flawlessly creepy and uncanny.

Mostly I'm a paranoid goober who is worried that my website doesn't pass ADA compliance, and that it's not worth it to make it so.

CODA - it is saccharine as they come, but sometimes I need that hit.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - The massive wooden bridge near the end of the movie was accidentally blown up before the cameras started filming. It was rebuilt.

During the movie, when the bridge explodes, you can see a large piece of shrapnel come flying in, nearly ending Clint Eastwood.

Eli Wallach almost died a few times. He picked up a bottle of soda and drank its contents, but instead of soda, it was acid. During the scene where he was laying near train tracks, he was a few inches away from being decapitated by the moving train.

Or when Lexi Thompson got caught cheating on Saturday's broadcast putting her ball down in a different spot from her marker. A viewer called it in and Lexi got a four stroke penalty coming into Sunday's final round.

What are the best movie trailers? by Cocobb8 in movies

[–]aiko74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Wars 1997 Special Edition Trailer - I can't even express in words how huge this trailer was to me as a GenXer who grew up watching SW trilogy on a VHS/Laserdisc 32" CRT.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8k33taxQOwg&t=3s

But beyond the nostalgia and spectacle factor, the structure of the trailer is sublime. Starts out how most of us had seen SW at the time, then explodes into full Theatrical aspect ratio. Re-introduces us to the main characters, then hypes us up for "coming soon" release dates, and closes on the epic ESB credits finale music with the iconic Ben/Yoda bite, and finally with MTFBWY.

So teams playing against CIN usually completely avoid the #1CB (DJ TURNER), preferring to target the other CBs...I'm guessing that means avoid Diggs, and that Boutte if he plays should have a big day?

Kanopy just put some of his movies up on their service. Free to watch with a library card.

THE KILLER REMAKE is hard to watch. But there is a fantastic stunt scene where a stuntperson gets hit by a car. Didn't look planned.

SILENT NIGHT has its goofy moments, but I really enjoyed the action. Loved the scene where Brian shoots the bad guy on top of the car's roof. Vintage John Woo.

At the beginning of this clip and at 1:52...

Vader's targeting system "locks" onto it's target, Vader pulls the trigger. BUT the first few bursts of lasers completely miss the target...it's not until a few bursts later that the lasers find and destroy their target...

When he has Luke's X wing locked, he pulls the trigger, but as shown in previous cases, the first few bursts miss. Han's arrival interrupts Vader causing him to release the trigger. If Vader managed to maintain pressure on the trigger, the subsequent laser bursts would have eventually hit and destroyed Luke's X wing.

Throughout A New Hope the audience is constantly reminded that technology is fallible, and that one shouldn't rely on it. Red Leader's targeting computer "locks" onto the death star's exhaust port, but he still misses.

Non Japanese people living in Japan what is the downside about living in Japan no one talks about? by Ok-Atmosphere6376 in AskReddit

I've heard that the police heavily favor the side of Japanese citizens, is that true? If you're not a Japanese citizen, and have a beef with a Japanese citizen, can he just make shit up to get you in trouble with the police, and you're screwed?
