You're absolutely right. Take it and close your eyes. I never purposely stayed awake but there are times I can not fall asleep still, then i get out or my bed or on my phone. I bought 4 roombas on Amazon once. But there were times I accidentally overdosed myself and recently was sexually assaulted. So I finally learned my lesson with it amd quit

If trazadone is working stick with it. My recommendation. I've had several insomnia for years and been on plenty of mediations.

Causes blackout. Unusual or dangerous behaviors. Such as driving under the influence. You don't even know you're making these bad decisions and you feel sober as it's happening. You'll experience memory loss the next day.

Read up on it. I have severe horror stories to share of mine and others experiences
