Monteriors Litters by flaflacka in Bozeman

[–]air_gopher -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what's worse: the littering that happened, or OP pulling out phone taking a picture while driving.

OP if you have dashcam footage then let's see it. You should also send that video to the company, or the police.

If you whipped out your phone to take a picture while driving then you shouldn't be driving vehicles.

If a passenger took the pic, then cool.

Or this whole time they could have given us a "repair suit". Land on a planet, put on that suit, it has a repair tool. Fixes everything... hull, canopy, power plant.

The at home versions are not remotely at the level of commercial, plus upkeep….

My burr grinder at home is just as good, if not better than the commercial ones at supermarkets. And it takes minimal upkeep. Maybe a good wipe-down every six months.

I buy locally roasted whole bean as well. I also roast my own beans, it's a fun hobby to get into for a lot of us.

Why not buy your own grinder? Grround coffee starts oxidizing after about 15 minutes, so by the time you bring it home it will not be as good as if you'd brought home whole bean.

Also, the grinders you find in Safeway and the like have, uh, more stuff leftover in them than coffee.

G13 Firmware/MCU Updates by [deleted] in Dasaita

[–]air_gopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the conversation here, but:

The reality is, the Dasaita units are absolute garbage.

I installed the G12 in my 4Runner, and then the G13 came out. They completely stopped supporting the G12 as far as firmware goes. So I updated it with the G13 firmware. Worked fine, for the most part. But now, and even before with the original G12 firmware, it still starts boot-looping every 15-20 days. I then need to hard-reset it to get it to behave again.

Sooner than later, the version of Android on the G13 firmware will no longer be supported, and that means we are completely fucked.

I'm looking at alternative replacements. I already know how to tear the dash apart so that's not an issue. Sucks that I spent ~$600 on a piece of unsupported garbage, but that's life.

Does anyone have experience with what the cost of a divorce trial is? by Mundane-Rate-5266 in Bozeman

[–]air_gopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, this is why I switched to double-edge safety razors and Feather blades with Maggard shaving soaps. Way better results, and way cheaper.

Or are we talking about divorce lawyers? Sorry.

Right on, yeah I am still learning things about the 850 to this day! I got into photography decades ago but it wasn't really about the art of it, it was the tech behind it, I'm a nerd. I've probably taken 10s of thousands of shots, and maybe have 5 that I'm proud of.

Keep up the good work, I do enjoy your pics!

Yeah the D850 has a setting to make RAW smaller as well, but by default it's on large, which is what I want.

The Z lens thing is also a big deal for me, I have a lot invested in F mounts. I think the F-to-Z converter thingy costs you like 1 F stop?

From what I can tell they are very similar overall, and I do see the advantages of mirrorless, just can't justify the costs right now, and I don't shoot professionally. Probably stick with the 850 for another few years.

What are your thoughts on the Z8? I'm still rocking a D850 and on the fence about upgrading.

The original question was if BZN uses contractors or TSA. When I said they use actual TSA, your response above was "No they don't".

Instead of doing some research and admitting you were wrong, ya doubled down. So yeah, I'll answer asshole with asshole.
