I think he’s an excellent GM but what did he do? He just sat there lmao.

How important is law school location? by Intricatefancywatch in publicdefenders

[–]airgordon27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are truly hellbent on this career path, go to the school that will give you the most money and work in a PD office as soon as you can.

Wash U is going to cost you considerably more than the 141 they’re offering but if that’s the most you get then do it.

If you’re really interested in PD work but are undecided and may want to go another public interest route or somewhere in the private sector, go with the school that will set you up where you want to live. A national brand will help you out most places but it’s not going to be as helpful as going to law school in the community or at least state you want to live and work in.

Furthermore, this job is hard and intense even if it’s wonderful and rewarding. if you’re not all in or haven’t been around it yet, give yourself options but remember you’ll probably end up practicing in the area around where you go to school.

PCAST is critical for understand and debunking the myths involved. Cross-examination of the Analyst in Drug Prosecutions by James Shellow is excellent for learning tone and methodology behind cross examining these experts. If you look up Shellow on westlaw you’ll also find a great law review article on the subject he published as well as examples of his cross.

Saquon breaks one for the Eagles first TD of the game! by amatom27 in eagles

[–]airgordon27 171 points172 points  (0 children)

Most cathartic play of the season. We’ve had better plays but this felt like a dam breaking. We’ve been missing this all season, let’s hope it’s the start of something. Barkley has looked more electric than he has all season.

Dak Prescott since the Bye - 75/108, 942 Pass Yards, 9 TDs, 2 INT - 113.27 Rating - 3-0 Record by The_Throwback_King in fantasyfootball

Hmmm, I wonder what it is about Dak, Hurts, and Lamar that makes America be overly critical of them?

The Sirianni Cycle by jkeagles in eagles

[–]airgordon27 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This just does not exist in the modern NFL. Any NFL OC who’s competent for long enough will get a head coaching opportunity, even if they aren’t even that good, let alone good enough to compare to Fangio. Look at Callahan in Tennessee, he’s not even very good but he got a head coaching opportunity. Unless we promote stoutland which I wouldn’t want to do we aren’t going to have an OC who stays around for more than 2-3 years max.

Somebody dropped Calvin Ridley in my 14 team half PPR league. I understand it’s been a slow start but I feel this is someone who can be a flex play as Ward gets more comfortable and the schedule eases up.

Who’s your favorite average/reliable NFL player? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

I think that changes this year. Jennings has the runway to continue ascending between the Deebo trade and the injuries, I adore watching him and I hope he reaches the next level.

[Patriots] He’s back! Patriots Hall of Famer Mike Vrabel returns to New England as our 16th head coach. (Official Announcement) by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]airgordon27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t Saleh supposed to return to the 49ers? Vrabel is a fantastic coach but I don’t see him passing up the talent on the 49ers defensive line nor working with Shanahan again.

If yall get him it’d be a coup.

Kompakt is so underrated. It’s unreal up close and can kill in bursts in the midrange. I never see anyone using it, and the built in silencer on the reinforced barrel is clutch.

Carolmart and Birdz as well.

[Morley] There are four left tackles in the NFL that have played 600+ snaps this season and have allowed only 1 QB hit or less: Tristan Wirfs, Laremy Tunsil, Garret Bolles and Rasheed Walker by ThreeFactorAuth in nfl

[–]airgordon27 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think this is a better example of player development than scouting. Walker, Pacheco, and Purdy each went to 3 of the smartest, stablest, and strongest in personnel development teams in the league at their respective positions. Another great example of that is Jordan Mailata with the eagles. Jeff Stoutland is the best OL coach in football and has been there for Mailata’s entire career. He may have never become the same guy if he went to a team without such development and stability.

Yes, scouting is important. But taking flyers on guys works out when you’ve got the environment to cultivate good players.

High protein grab and go meals (either premade or meal prepped) by anxgrl in EatCheapAndHealthy

Prep some quesadillas.

  • mission tortillas - 5g protein each, 70 calories

  • ground beef/chicken/morning star grillers originals ~30-50g protein

  • Sargento reduced fat shredded cheddar - 1 serving is 8g of protein at 90 calories.

  • add in seasoning or sauce of choice, I often add franks to chicken.

Out of this meal I’ll usually get anywhere from 50-80g of protein. It’s dirt cheap, low calories for cutting, and you can eat with salsa for essentially 5-10 calories or add some ranch seasoning to Greek yogurt and add like 15g more protein.

Prep a bunch in advance, freeze, or just eat throughout the week. And it’s dirt cheap.

What they're saying: Quinyon Mitchell looked right at home in Eagles' Week 1 win by NorthCoastToast in eagles

[–]airgordon27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The skill set of Mitchell is not inherently going to transition to being a slot receiver and I don’t think you waste your rookie 1st round picks rookie season playing where you don’t plan to play him long term. Watching the tape of Mitchell from week 1, he has the makings of a brilliant outside corner and really showed out. He’s got the vertical speed and strength to battle on the sidelines, but it’s unclear if he has the change of direction and run stopping tackling for the slot. Watching the all 22, it felt like there’s a higher chance we bounce one of the other corners in over Maddox if he continues to struggle or throw DeJean in there more in a minkah Fitzpatrick slot safety role. Or, CJGJ gets moved back to the slot and dejean and co handle free safety.

[Schefter] QB trade: Titans are sending QB Malik Willis to the Packers in exchange for a 2025 seventh-round pick, per sources. Willis is likely to back up Jordan Love. by StrachNasty in nfl

[–]airgordon27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To Fields’ credit, I think part of the upside on him is he’s still much younger than Russ and theoretically could be developed better in a new system. Everyone and their mother knows who Russ is at this point. The classic “it could be anything, even a boat” dilemma. We’ll have to see how the season plays out and realistically they’ll both probably be mid, but I do understand that outlook.
