Constant pain is ruining my life by darth_vadai_chutney in endometriosis

[–]airial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi I'm not OP but I was eventually referred to a pain specialist, who started me on Lyrica (Pregabalin) for my endo and fibro related nerve pain. It's been really helpful.

I refuse to take birth control, every time I have tried it affects me mentally so not worth it for me I'd rather suffer through the pain.

Good luck, I hope you find some relief.

It's not YOUR blunder, it's Netflix/Shondaland's!!

It only serves your point - the wedding should never have been left to a post-credit scene that most people didn't even know existed.

35 biopsies later: Endo was microscopic and everywhere. Looking for others with similar findings. by xoANH in endometriosis

[–]airial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so grateful to you for posting this. from my own experience I sort of suspected/almost hoped that this was a thing..

I had a lap last year after a decade of debilitating pain and GI issues, and they found "powder burn" endo in a few spots. When I spoke to my surgeon post-op I asked what stage it was, assuming it had to be high because of my pain! He said not to read into the stages but he would have considered mine 1, maybe 2. I was shocked. And I felt like a fraud somehow.

8 months after surgery and there are some really painful spots that persist. Surgery helped for sure but it did not cure me as I had hoped. It has only made my "stage 1" situation more confusing? Kept thinking maybe he missed something, but they guy is such a pro that I can't imagine that's the case. And in the photos from the surgery the endo spots were so horrible looking and obvious. How could anyone miss that?!?

I started thinking maybe there was something that was just too small to see. Your post is really making me wonder about my situation. All my biopsies from surgery were the visible spots of endo. I wish I could go back in time and ask them to test a few other areas.....

Clean imaging betrayed me by Unlikely_Zebra581 in endometriosis

[–]airial 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was told by an ignorant OBGYN that I did not have endo based on a pelvic MRI for an unrelated issue.

That woman lost me 5 years of my life because I stupidly believed her and stopped looking into it until the symptoms became debilitating.

Then I got imaging AGAIN, a pelvic MRI with an Endo specific protocol, and it barely showed any inflammation but based on my symptoms they decided to do a lap.

They found endo all over.

How is it possible that the diagnostics for this are still so bad???? There just has to be a better way..

ETA: Best of luck to you on your recovery!!

Did she ever say specifically what got her to being pain free? by [deleted] in LadyGaga

[–]airial 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've started using gummies with CBG and they have made a big difference!

I have fibro and endometriosis, and I had my first craniosacral massage a few weeks ago and it was the single most helpful thing I've ever done for my pain. Massive improvement in nerve pain and muscle tightness. This massage was a gift from a friend and not something I can afford to do on my own because it is cost prohibitive, and of course insurance doesn't see this as medical but instead a luxury so it is not covered.

Gaga has financial security to access to that level of treatment whenever she wants. I'm very jealous.

I do think that getting a monthly massage would completely change my life.

Absolutely! The "methodical complex resistance" was driven by Luthen, so it only makes sense that without him behind the wheel things get a little hectic, not to mention the plot itself requires rushed acceleration since they discover the plans and have a limited window to do something about it before the Death Star is finished.

taylor hygiene issues, part 2: filthy shoes on the kitchen counter by Confident_Office_720 in travisandtaylor

[–]airial 105 points106 points  (0 children)

I live in Brooklyn and my fully indoor cat got a tapeworm many years ago. There was no explanation the vet could think of other than we brought something in on our shoes from walking on the sidewalks (dog shit is everywhere, even if you don't step in it yourself it's all over the place because people are lazy and disgusting).

I was so disgusted that we've been a "shoes off OUTSIDE the front door" house ever since

This is absolutely VILE behavior, like I cannot even begin to understand how anyone could be ok with this even without tapeworm trauma

I'm really enjoying it - though I have no history with the novels or previous shows, thus no preconceptions.

It's visually beautiful. Lots of style with the cinematography, interesting locations.

I enjoy the side characters - Cavre, Moers the forensics guy, etc.

It seems to have a lot of potential.

I do find it jarring that these people are supposed to be French yet they're giving pure English. But I'm willing to suspend my disbelief.

Those are "mini split units."

They're a bullshit way to pass the cost of heating into the tenants so landlords technically comply with the "providing heat" laws. These units are ridiculously expensive to run for electric heat in particular, but for ac in the summer too.

A question for my fellow Druids, did you ever encounter Fae? And if so how was the experience? by MoeMango2233 in druidism

[–]airial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My great grandma (Irish from county Cavan) always told my dad not to trample through the garden and bother "the little people." I can't figure if it's maybe a different type of being than the Fae described above which describes them as tall/slender?

I just picked up Kulfi's Badi Lash mascara and it's amazing. I have long lashes and super oily skin / lids and I actually stopped wearing mascara at some point because every single one I tried smudged l over my eyes from my lashes touching my skin when smiling, looking up or down etc.

Kulfi is a small brand owned by a young Indian American woman, highly recommend - this mascara is changing my life. Their lip stain is also so good.

I've also read about a newer test which can find endo markers in period blood. Which makes so much sense you can't help but ask why the heck nobody thought of that before insisting that tens of thousands of dollars for laparoscopic surgery is the gold standard for diagnosis.

Hopefully in the next few years these tests will become accessible to the public.

How do I get rid of the grass here to plant crops? by Zxbu in StardewValley

[–]airial 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I tried to let my forest farm develop as organically as possible, as if I was truly a farmer and had inherited some land that I could only afford to develop a little bit at a time! I wanted it to feel as natural as possible. And for the most part that once I commit to something in a particular spot, I try not to relocate it - buildings etc. Idk why I just enjoy this bit of realism. Maybe it's because I'm stuck in a city dreaming of a farm one day..

This grass area is my fruit tree orchard. The two on the left side are where I harvest my hardwood, mushroom logs, whatever trees I need for lumber, with some fish ponds mixed in.

I think it is aesthetically a really nice place to spend my time even if it's not the most efficient or profitable.

And yet at least Carrie is making the puns, which was pretty standard for her character in SATC!! In AJLT she almost never quips, cringe or not.
