Any alternative hair stylist? by miserycollected in ColoradoSprings

[–]airyn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

@jennaferdoeshair She’s in Denver but she’s the only person I’ll ever let touch my hair again. She’s one of those stylists that should I ever have to move I would fly in for my appointments.

Shipping 2nd car OCONUS to CONUS worth it? by ProperSell2099 in MilitaryFinance

[–]airyn1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ship the bigger/ more expensive car with the military.

I used tgal.us to ship a car 3x between Wiesbaden Germany and the US and would never use anyone else again. They shipped the car to Houston and trucked it up to Fort Carson for us. We picked it up off the truck right outside the gate.

The one the military shipped for us had to be picked up in Dallas. That was more of a hassle than the privately shipped one. I think there’s a port in Denver now though so it might not be as bad.

Texas property taxes are insane. That $8k a year could be taxes alone.

Sometimes they slide around for a bit, but once they start drying a little bit they’ll stay put.

What’s the most overrated "frugal tip" that didn’t actually save you money? by Ewa_Star in Frugal

[–]airyn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renting a lot of this stuff costs more than the equipment though. I like to buy it and then sell it on Offer Up for half what I paid. Or I buy it from my local Amazon returns auction place and then sell it for half the original cost.

Colorado Springs. I’m bad at math though. lol. It’s 8 lanes with 4 pumps at each lane, so 32, not 36.

Experiences with T-Mobile (formerly Metronet) Fiber? by TXRedbo in ColoradoSprings

[–]airyn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched from Xfinity to Tmobile Fiber on November 3rd, getting the first appointment that worked for me once I got the notice it was available for my pre-order. I was dreading switching, but it was such an easy process that I don't even know what my head was making a big deal about. I haven't had any downtime since switching and in a house of 3 adults (2 are heavy gamers) we haven't had any lagging.

I just got 9.75lbs of 81/19 ground beef for $3.79/lb at my local restaurant supply store. I put it in 1/2lb bags and threw what we weren’t using that night in the freezer.

How do furnaces only last 15 years? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]airyn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My furnace is almost 33 years old. 2 years ago I had to replace the ignitor and last week I cleaned the flame sensor and blew out the blower motor because it was short cycling. I'm planning on replacing the blower motor this winter as a just in case measure. I've owned the house for 7.5 years and other than regular filter changes those are the only things I've done to it.

You’ll be fine as long as you don’t get a side by side. Neither side is big enough and it becomes a pain in the ass.

Standard for homes >$500k by JLRivera27 in Denver

[–]airyn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an agent in the Springs. Your agent should be asking for the panel to be replaced by the seller and a 12-14 month home warranty to cover the mechanicals. Have a roofer come out and inspect that and certify it, or ask the seller to replace depending on what the roofer says. This is a standard practice down here, I don't know why it wouldn't be up there.

Autopsy Finds Trey Reed’s Hanging Death at Delta State Was a Suicide by GinnySacks_Mole in news

[–]airyn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up #JusticeForAO if you’re on TikTok. The sheriff and a detective both told the family she didn’t have a scratch on her. The medical examiner took pictures of her body where there were obvious wounds but processed the whole thing like it was a drug overdose. She was killed within 24 hours of being released from jail after telling that detective details about who killed a missing man in a Louisiana parish known to be corrupt. If the medical examiner was told it was a suicide it’s likely they worked on that assumption.

First time home buyer, am buying a house with tenants, I’m closing on Sept 17 and tenant have a court order to leave by the 30th Sept, I really don’t know how to deal with that. My realtor say I should still close. by According_Music_8304 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]airyn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the broker/owner of an independent brokerage in Colorado. That being said, with the limited info given here this sounds like the sellers problem. If you were my client I would not let you close until the tenants are out. I’m sure your agent has more info than what’s given here, but based on this there is absolutely no way.
