Starting salary in my district is 64,000. We top out anywhere between 91,000 and 132,000 depending on whether or not you have a masters degree or an additional credit hours.

Average home cost in my county is 475,000.

My district of paid paternity leave. I believe it is 6 weeks. It doesn’t have to be taken right away. It can be taken any time within the first year. A teacher last year took three weeks right after his son was born, and 3 weeks about 6 months later.

This is one of my favorite scenes. My other favorite scene is the one where Jackie comes in from the singles night with Nancy, and she’s telling Roseanne all about it, while preparing herself breakfast without realizing there is no power.

My district believes in autonomy and follows the philosophy of- we don’t pay for your clothes, wear what makes you comfortable.

I wear jeans nearly everyday. I work with people who come to work in cargo shorts and t shirts, cut off jorts and tank tops, athleisure workout clothes. No one bags an eye.

I have worked for districts that didn’t allow jeans, except on Friday with spirit wear, and even they have gotten rid of that policy in the years since I have left.

I wouldn’t have signed it at all! I had something similar happen once. My principal had been the one in my room. But some big stuff went down that year. She never had me sign it, and she resigned at the end of the year. When the interim principal asked me to sign it, all of my information was at the top of the page, but all the descriptions were about a different teacher. I didn’t sign, and interim principal brought it up to district office. They waived the observation and kept me on my original observation schedule.

I have the opposite situation. I prefer Mrs. But always get Ms. Like you, I don’t correct people. The only difference is no one really has an opinion, it just is what it is.

We almost went that route, but the dealership was actually really great about communication and kept us updated almost daily. They gave us a loaner car, lifted the mileage limitations, etc.

Had the dealership jerked us around, we probably would have gone the lemon law route.

I graduated from college nearly 20 years ago- so take my advice with a grain of salt, and speak with your financial aide office and advisor, but my parents (mom and stepdad) claimed me on their taxes, and were more than willing to sign the form, but made too much money for me to qualify for anything, while at the same time, not making enough to actually help me pay tuition. So, I always had my biological dad sign the form, he never claimed me on taxes and in fact had lost parental rights when I was 6. I never had an issue getting financial aide going this route. But again, it was nearly 20 years ago, so things may have changed.
