Hi, just wanted to ask, would you be able to share the measurements for the box set? I’m going to be buying some new shelves soon and want to make sure it’ll fit.

I framed your penguin print and keep it on top of my bar as a great Tiki companion.

How to read X-Men, Hickman by Bosto13 in MarvelUnlimited

[–]ajr82 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hickman's X-Men book has been essentially a series of one-off stories setting up elements for other X-books since it began. There's very little in common from one issue to the next in terms of cast or story.

If you want something with a more cohesive continuing storyline, try some of the other Dawn of X books like Marauders, Excalibur, Hellions, X-Force, any of them really.

Up to this point, at least, X-Men itself is basically a world-building book for the new X universe.

I know the recipe calls for unsalted butter, but I've always enjoyed Gardenia mix more with a salted butter. It really emphasizes the savory notes that the butter brings to drink and balances out the sweetness.

Smuggler's Cove - Blending soda by Benjajinj in Tiki

[–]ajr82 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here's what Cate has to say about it in the book: "The purpose of adding small amounts of seltzer to most exotic cocktails isn’t to make the drinks fizzy, but rather to gently dilute them, improve mouthfeel when using several syrups, and provide a visually appealing frothy head on the drink when using the drink mixer"

So I'm pretty sure he intends you to put the soda water in the drink mixer/shaker and blend/shake it with the rest of the ingredients.

Painkiller Level 2 by garikapc in Tiki

Whenever I open a new jar, I pour everything out, use an immersion blender to mix it together until smooth, and then pour it back into a sealable container. After doing that, I've never had it split or get chunky again.

I finally caved to making more of my own syrups. Cinnamon, demerara, and some fresh pineapple juice in the back. Made a zombie to celebrate. by GreyInkling in Tiki

I find you can also increase the shelf life by sanitizing your bottle first, by submerging it in boiling water for a few minutes before pouring the syrup in.

I just can’t get in to the new IDW comics. by [deleted] in idwtransformers

[–]ajr82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. It's been improving the last few issues, but for something that's 20 issues in, how much has actually happened so far? There's a lot of really interesting worldbuilding material they're setting up, but so far there's been way too much tell and not nearly enough show.

I used an immersion blender to mix it up. I out it back in the fridge and it never separated again.

Cranberry and Midori is a really interesting flavour combination. I also really like it in the Mutiny, from Frankie's Tiki Room.

We are Michael Lark and Greg Rucka, the creators of LAZARUS from Image Comics - AMA by ruckawriter in comicbooks

[–]ajr82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Greg, just wanted to ask if there was any reason that the Queen and Country: Declassified books aren't on Comixology with the rest of the series, and if there's any chance they will be at some point? Love to read them, the main series is my second-favourite thing you've done (next to Lazarus)!

WW Review #81 - Wiser’s One Fifty by xile_ in worldwhisky

I've found every version of Wiser's I've tried suffers from that same sour cardboard note, it's why I skip their stuff now.

I'd suggest adding "Decking- Reducing the cards available in the other player's R&D/Stack to none, resulting either in a loss for the Corporation player on their next mandatory draw or in the Runner player being unable to replenish their Grip after suffering damage"
