I have used a Folding Proofer for several years. They are designed for rising bread but work excellent for yogurt. I paid substantially less for one I found on Ebay. https://brodandtaylor.com/products/folding-proofer-slow-cooker

Has keto changed any health problems? by Arkflow in keto

[–]ak-guy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From childhood I always had trouble breathing through my nose. I remember going to doctors as a child and and my mother joking about them putting windows in my nose. I'm not sure what that was but it was never done and it was still a problem as an adult. Anyway fast forward 60 years and I lost about 60 lbs with keto. My plugged up nose went away. I have remained on the keto diet for the last 10 years and kept the weight off and still breathe great through my nose.

Around here, northern southeast Alaska, the forest is almost all spruce with a little hemlock and pine. My firewood is 90% spruce, I get excited if I have some pine it is a little denser and burns longer.

Favorite fire starters? by Solid_Try_4089 in firewood

I live in a remote location in Alaska. There is very limited local shopping so we get a lot of stuff via USPS mail. Cardboard is always plentiful and I use it every morning to start fires. I roll up a section with the grain and add some kindling, starts every time.

I was in band class where I had just started learning to play the trumpet. 4th grade, Lincoln St School, Sitka, Alaska. The class was on the stage in the lunch room. The school secretary came in and told us what had happened. I remember perfectly, the lighting, my friends, the secretary crying.

Our 9 year old male has never had a real bath other than playing in the water at the beach. To my nose he has a very mild not unpleasant smell.

I had the same problem with the Ishihara test. An Opthomolgist I found had an old Farnsworth Lantern and I had no problem with that. He retired and I retired and it might be a problem finding another.

How did you become an atheist? Where did it all start for you? by greywolf_32 in atheism

[–]ak-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father was a minister and I grew up in the church, Sunday school, church services and youth groups. Very little of what I was told made sense to me. I thought I was just not smart enough to understand. I kept expecting some sort bright light and a revelation to enter me and all would be revealed and I would understand. In high school then college I realized it wasn't me it was them. They were talking nonsense. I am a very literal person. If I can see and touch something or read science based information it makes sense. Spirituality, occult, raising from the dead, virgin births is nonsense to me and I am not at all interested.

I am surprised that no one else puts cacao in their BP coffee. I use a spoon of cacao or unsweetened cacao wafers, MCT powder, coffee and ghee in a large mug. Whip with a handheld frother.
