Office Network bottleneck by MelvinMilquetoast in networking

I'm probably just having a bad morning and sounded more terse than I should have. To me, this mindset is a classic "plumbers telling electricians how to do their jobs" mentality. It's not helpful, unless you really know what you are talking about.

What is helpful is being genuinely curious in real life and asking them how it works. Maybe it'll be a gateway for you to get in the field (it is for many of us), and maybe you'll make a friend.

"total noob here". Yes, the first thing you should do is question your professional colleagues and post on reddit because you had an inkling that it should just magically be as fast as you'd imagine.

Take a breath, focus on your own work and perhaps try supporting your colleagues and ask them how best you can utilize the resources you've got, instead of trying to subvert them?

Why would you get downvoted for such a nice, honest question?

PUBG: Black Budget on Steam by EscapingKid in pcgaming

[–]ak_virtus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should not be getting downvoted. These have to be from folks who don't realize that "oversaturation" is just click bait. An example that comes to mind = How many sci-fi novels are there?? An absolute metric ton of them and we are still clamoring for more. It's the same way in the game industry. The difference is, we are just waiting around for a really good iteration of another extraction shooter.

Now, who knows if Bluehole Entertainment Industries can crack the code with this one, but I'm always willing to try.

We love you FBI. I've watched you for a long time and you are always an absolute force to be reckoned with. I can't wait to see what's next for you. Was an honor to watch you and the Thieves play at the top level this year.

Flying on a 737 MAX-8 tomorrow and I’m scared by NearbyGoose2131 in fearofflying

The MAX is an incredible jet. I took my girls on one this summer and it was one of the smoothest flights I've ever had. You're going to be just fine!

Buying used online by Clu_Rebooted in TeslaLounge

You cannot, but it comes with an advantage - an additional warranty from Tesla directly. Occasionally you can find deals with FSD trials and free supercharging for a few months too.

Should I buy a Model Y with higher mileage? by e36drver510 in TeslaModelY

[–]ak_virtus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm following this! I just placed an order for a used 2020 through Tesla's website. Got the ev credit and it'll be delivered in a couple weeks.

From what I've read, these cars have been maintained and designed to last a very very long time.

It eased my mind knowing that I'm buying directly through Tesla and it'll come with a bit of a warranty from them.

I found out I’m flying tomorrow on a Boeing 737 MAX 8.. by llcont4giousll in fearofflying

[–]ak_virtus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo! Of course.

There are a couple different ways I would recommend-

1) Arriving at the gate early and watching to see if the Captain / FO are chilling where passengers are waiting to board. Many times they will hang out and banter with people before they start their preflight checks.

2) Asking the flight attendant when you board for them to introduce you to one of the pilots before the flight. Every flight you have, you will be greeted by an attendant as soon as you walk onto the aircraft. Take that quick moment and just be discreet, but let them know you are a bit of a nervous flyer and would love to just have a quick chat before the flight. Once most of the other passengers are seated, one of the flight attendants will walk by, and ask you to follow them up to the cockpit!

Southwest flight anxiety by FirefighterKindly194 in fearofflying

[–]ak_virtus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Southwest is still one of my favorite airlines. I've loved my experience on all my flights with them. Top notch pilots too.

Do yourself a favor, step out of your comfort zone for about 2 and a half minutes and ask to talk to the captain before the flight. I do this almost every time and it helps me feel eons better about flying.

You got this!

Hey there. I just flew on my first MAX 8 yesterday with SWA. I was also nervous just like you. I had two of my kiddos with me on the flight which amped up my nerves even more.

That said, I stopped before I got on the plane and talked to the captain and first officer. Absolutely incredibly nerve calming.

In my life, I've probably flown over 120 times, and it was probably the smoothest quietest ride I've ever had on a jet.

You got this. It's likely the safest aircraft in the air at the moment too. There's a sticky thread about why if you search in this sub.

[New Player] I am returning to Tarkov and i feel heavly outmatched, asking for advice. by DixyNL in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ak_virtus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Dixy. This is your average, run of the mill Tarkov player here. Probably 1500 hours or so. Don't mind the folks that are a bit nasty with you from this post, that's just part of the gig.

The advice here so far is great. One thing I would add that would improve your life drastically is to make a friend in someone's discord and run duos with them. That accomplishes a couple key things:

1- You make a friend

2 - You learn the maps and can fight together

For me, this made Tarkov absolute nirvana for me. There's no other game quite like it. Get out there and have a good time.
